Making builds isn't supposed to be friendly to new players.

Any reasons other than elitism?

I wouldn’t say elitism moreover rewarding a players time with the ability to make these builds. Like the game wouldn’t be much fun if you woke up in the cosmodrome having instant grenade and ability regen with the best weapons and exotics equipped. That being said, I don’t know why they changed the way you used to earn mods, rewards from engrams or reputation level ups. Other than forcing ada to be useful since they realized a very low percentage of the player base is actually gonna bother with the transmog garbage.

Who said anything about exotics and weapons at the start? Of course it sounds like a bad idea when you make a strawman argument like that. As for rewarding time—I think I’ve played over 500 hours since returning and I am missing key cwl mods. Don’t gate gameplay. Their are cosmetics and things that don’t affect the end user experience that can be used instead.

Edited by KucciManPaps: 10/24/2022 3:33:51 AMI mean you’re wanting to make a god tier build with mods, most builds involve exotics(armor and weapons) so it’s not really a straw man argument provided you know anything about any of the actual end game builds. And I agreed with you to an extent, i happened to be lucky enough to play during the seasons where the current “meta” mods were easy to obtain. Mods shouldn’t be hard to obtain, and in a sense they aren’t, they just require you to check a vendor every daily reset. Which really isn’t that big of a deal, she should either have an expanded mod inventory or have a daily rotation of what kind of mods she sells. Like one day be mods dedicated to elemental wells, the next day charged with light mods, etc.

Exotics are easy to get and my thread isn’t about exotics. Don’t derail. Some mods have only been at Ada-1 four times. Four. That needs to change. Not everyone can make time to play login and grab mods everyday either. It’s fomo and it objectively sucks.

It’s not derailing. You just refuse to read anything I’m typing. Exotics and mods go hand in hand in builds, that was my point. I also suggested solutions, but unfortunately fomo exists, and bungie will forever capitalize it because they always have with this game, you don’t like it play something else. Mods have been garbage to obtain since the release of witch queen, it definitely will not change anytime soon, crying on the forums demanding for it to change won’t do anything, they are too busy making twabs just to solicit their garbage bungie shop trinkets and promote charities. Nothing gets changed that actually matters and when it does it’s months-years after it’s initial release. They literally just “tuned” nearly every weapon archetype and now the pvp experience is even worse than before. You think bungie really gives a crap? I mean the game is ridiculously expensive to even hop into right now and it’s getting even worse every year. They have to create a sense of urgency to play their game or else you would see that the content their is to play is bland, stale, boring, and repetitive. I’ve been playing this game for close to 10 years now, and I can tell you the most evolution I’ve seen gameplay wise is them adding the overwatch payload gimmick. Nothing will be made easy for the casual unfortunately because they have to cater to the garbage elitists who cry about every single change in the game. Them adding and easier way to obtain mods will most likely lead to some sort of uproar from the community threatening their lives again because now new players “don’t have to works as hard” and “they only cater to casuals” meanwhile every Hotfix and update is dedicated to pleasing the sweaty streamer who shamelessly shills this shell of a game.

Did you seriously just say it’s not derailing and then post a lifestory about other things not pertaining to mods? I am giving feedback on the feedback forum because I would like them to change it. People should make more noise and give feedback on things they don’t like and want changed. Cheers.

I really doubt the devs give a -blam!- about elitism. It's about respecting players' time.
-
Destiny 2 is designed around fomo. I have no idea where you got the notion the game respects people’s time. People have busy lives and not everyone can login when Ada is selling a mod they are missing.
I have no idea where you got the notion the game respects people’s time.
He said, on a post complaining about new & returning players not being able to get mods.
-
You’ve lost me. What are you inferring?
-
*implying, & nothing. I'm flat-out stating that it's impossible to respect the time players invest in earning items & make those same items easily obtainable for new & returning players. They're mutually exclusive concepts.
-
Edited by RGRz: 10/24/2022 4:17:28 AMWhy do you automatically think the decision to hand out 4 random mods a day was to respect players. If they respected players they wouldn’t rely on fomo.

I'm jvp wrench. I haven't sent you any DMs.
-
My mistake. You did not. Apologies.

No worries. I agree that whoever is doing that to you is a weirdo lol
