Ada-1 mods are a joke for new/returning players

4 random mods a day limits builds for new players. Today, all the mods she is offering drops from legendary engrams. I am so frustrated waiting for elemental charge and getting glaive targeting instead.

  • I see no reason as to why they can't modify her or Banshee's inventory to bring 10 or so Mods per week that refresh on Tuesday. 10 different mods and you have a week to grab em so you cant miss out if you can't play on a particular day. If Xur can bring 6 or so weapons and 5 armor pieces a week, there's no reason Ada can't bring 8 or so Mods a week.

  • Everyone doesn't have to have everything. Stop watching streamers who no life the game and flex their mods, perfect armor and God rolls. Just enjoy using what you have, it'll be ok. You can beat every piece of content in this game with blue weapons. Every single piece.

  • Returning player here I've played since Vanilla all the way to shadowkeep and i have just returned to the game in Season of plunder. I've played for all this seasons and had a little kickstart with the gear and mats I used to have. The issue i've found is that the mod rotation is so dumb, Ada-1 Should sell unobtaniable mods in a pure rotation, there are 71 mods in "Combat and Style" which came from War table, Eris... Etc. If Ada sold 2 different mods in a rotation for 31 days Players would be able to get the mods for their builds. But in 60 days of Season of plunder so far even when I had a couple mods and i've purchased everyday the mods that i did not have my total count is 53. Build Elitism is garbage. Even build based youtubers agree on this "The issue with making builds in destiny is that only a small amount of players will get to make this build work properly with the mods required" The multiple grind required (Weapons, Exotics, Armor godroll) is completely pointless whenever you get time gated by a bad RNG that could last for 8 months of a mod not selling.. I have farmed my Armor to triple 100's Got some nice weapon rolls and farmed for all my fragments and addons yet everysingle time i will get blocked by a build needing 1 or 2 mods to work or they will feel clunky to use. I would not mind even a quest like some catalyst require with "Combatants kills", Guardians or Calibration to snipe a particular mod.

  • Hello RGRz. I understand how it can be quite the grind to gather the mods to craft a perfect build. But I wouldn’t not go as far to generalize the experience being awful for new players. What makes me say this? I am a new player, I was active in vanilla destiny, completed prestige leviathan the week it came out (this is relevant as mods worked differently back then, and all gear from that time save for exotics have been to my knowledge, something called “sunset”. I stared with no mods, weapon or armor. Roughly 5-6weeks ago (a week after kings fall dropped, as seeing players attempt it made me nostalgic). In this time, through completing nightfall strikes, trials flawlesses, opening engrams and the buying every mod that populates into Ada/gunsmith on reset, I find myself in posession of nearly every mod. The important mods I have purchased directly (time dilation, bountiful wells, etc. )that allow for well builds, RNG is not a fair argument, as for what mods I have received from engrams, to date… I have only ever received weapon flinch/targeting/ammo mods from packages. Via GM nightfall and trials I was able to obtain every Adept mod in the game. As for hours spent, I work M-F 7:30- 6:30 ( 10 hour shifts), most nights I sleep by 8:45-9:30 and wake at 5 am. So during the week I have optimally from 7-8:30 for game time. (30-45 minute drive to/from work). On weekends I allocate more time of course 6-8 hours, so my total playtime per week can at best be 23.5 hours, assuming I play exactly at 7pm each night and guaranty 8 hours a day on weekends. My point in all of this is as follows, through Grundy efforts and 8 or so weeks of determination, I have recovered from my long absence. The mod grind is not difficult for new players, it is only difficult for the undisciplined, passive individuals who have yet to find initiative in their play through Thank you for taking the time to read this, any feedback is appreciated, I wish you the best!

    • Making builds isn't supposed to be friendly to new players.
