Honestly, what do you people want here?
Destiny 1 players: The grind is too easy. I can get to max light so quick why continue playing?
Bungie: Oh guys, we've kept the old infusion system in place for Destiny 2 but instead of all primaries infusing into all primaries, you now have to match weapon types (Scout, Pulse, SMG, etc). We have made a lot of options for you to be able to grind for the gear and level you want to achieve as well.
Destiny 2 players: The grind is too hard, why can't we infuse all things into all things.
Like seriously, it's meant to be a grindy game. Don't like it, don't play RPGs or Loot Based Shooters.

Not the point, I can already tell If I reply to this I'm prone to a lengthy argument. We were able to do this in D1 as long as it was the same slot of weapon type. Taking it away in D2 is just a step back in a direction they have already moved forward with. Two steps forward, one step back.

I have to disagree. This is a step in the right direction as many other games follow the right gear system. I see no problems with this and the only people complaining are the ones who want to rush through a game that by design is supposed to be grindy. Just be thankful it isn't as grindy as Diablo or Warframe.

Or people who want to use a weapon that they like. Which is, idk, 98% percent of everyone on this forum post.

Who said the grind was too easy for Destiny 1?

Literally everyone I knew who played it complained since TTK that the game was too easy to max out on now.

Vanilla Destiny is remembered for forever 29. Although this was somewhat alleviated with the DB expansion, having max LL locked behind one piece of armor was still frustrating for a lot of people, especially when the hard raid was 33. Being 31 was extremely unforgiving. House of wolves did make it easy. Many players had 3 34's on the first day. With that, this was typically players favorite time as they were able to use there favorite weapons/armor as anything could be made max power/light. With TTK almost no one got to 320. Drops were not based on your current light level until the April update. At which point, players may have complained, however, max light level was unnecessary for almost all content, so getting their wasn't rewarding anyway. ROI and the final update was all about nostalgia. Getting your favorite gear with the ornaments took time. Although getting to max light may have been easy, gear was the goal, not light. Being that the case, the people who complained are probably the ones with too much time on their hands.
