One player running an eight man sandboxed battlefield filled with A.I and scripted events is a little different to a round of KI or MKX. Even still, perpetuating a shitty experience inevitably bares identicle results.

Edited by Psyntifik: 2/10/2017 2:34:33 PMScripted events don't use up more bandwidth. The game is either laggy or it isn't, and most of the time it's fine. Nobody seemed to have had that problem during the beta.

Edited by Capt Explodabob: 2/10/2017 10:06:31 AMLooking past the fact that you haven't backed up what you've said, it's nice to see that you conveniently chose to ignore the other points.
Nobody seemed to have had that problem during the beta.
A quick trip to reddit disproves this. Or, you know, you could look a few spaces up or down on this very post to see that other people are having these issues.

Not my problem if you don't understand how it works. Would dedicated be better? Yes, obviously. Is it bad? No. Fighting games work on the same P2P connections with minimal problems. You're complaining about something not worth complaining about. And a quick look on these forums shows me that most people are getting on fine. And those with problems are mostly just having trouble connecting to the Ubisoft servers to even get into a game.
-
Likewise it's not my problem if you want to sling hollow assertions which by no means support your argument.
Fighting games work on the same P2P connections with minimal problems.
You might've been on to something if it wasn't for the annoying little fact that the two biggest fighters of this console cycle so far― MKX and SFV― have gone through drastic network updates to improve online multiplayer stability after numerous complaints. Even still, SFV is a shit show online. Really not a great comparison there.

SF had problems in just about every other area, and the people behind MK are shit. Patch or not, the game works fine over P2P. Look at fighters like TEKKEN, BlazBlue, KI, Guilty Gear, KoF...

Edited by Capt Explodabob: 2/10/2017 1:49:22 PMWasn't your original argument that since For Honor is technically a fighter, lag should be expected? Now you're erroneously arguing that fighters in general don't suffer from lag. Funny how things change.
SF had problems in just about every other area...
Right, including its network infrastructure.
the people behind MK are shit.
This says it all. But it is solid. It's just a shame that Ubisoft couldn't follow suit. Edited by Psyntifik: 2/10/2017 2:29:28 PMWhat part of "minimal problems" did you turn into me erroneously arguing they don't suffer from connection issues? Seriously, I never said that. Outside of competitive play (where every frame matters) it's hardly the problem you're making it out to be. Seriously? You're gonna link a T6 post from 2009 and ignore how well praised Tag 2's netcode is? Good one. The BlazBlue link wasn't a good one. If you read, it was mostly down the guy seemingly playing in the wrong region. https://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/680197-blazblue-chrono-phantasma/68710775?page=1 Check this out instead. Good work on your one comment isolated case for Guilty Gear in which a guy was fine with far away connections, but had problems locally. Once again, though you haven't used the latest game. https://steamcommunity.com/app/376300/discussions/0/451848854995727256/ here's some more comments on Sign. -- But here's a few for the more recent Revelator http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/181102-guilty-gear-xrd-revelator-/73838026 KoF it turns out the guy only had issues during ranked games, so it could be any number of issues - ranked is notorious for people pulling the plug (not saying it's definitely that, but lag doesn't exclusively affect one game mode). Look, I get you. P2P games will never be as favoured as dedicated servers. But its impossible to pretend this is a big issue when fighting games get by just fine in a very similar environment.

Fair play, dude. This is about as much as we're going to cut it down to, I think.
