You'd think that for a game which's predicated upon precise, fast and reactionary gameplay that dedicated servers would be a no brainer. Nope! Think again. Enter ‘For Honor’ ― an incredible game with a slight flaw: it's almost impossible to stay connected to the other players for an entire fucking match.
Well done, Ubisoft. You've drummed up one of your best new ips in years, only to cripple it with your unabashed avarice. Well fucking done.

P2P is a joke
-
Personally I haven't had a problem with the P2P
-
Hopefully they'll set up some dedicated servers before launch or at least soon. I haven't had much problem. The loading into the game sometimes takes a long time though
-
Agreed!!! Been stuck in custom games with friends all day as whenever we try to play an actual game of dominion were just met with networking issue mid game.
-
Don't think the game was that good to begin with
-
1 ReplyIt's a damn shame, but not the end of the world. As long as those you play with have good internet we can have us some good matches
-
3 RepliesFor those of you who are not familiar with the system that For Honor uses there is a great reddit QandA from the developers that I will be linking to this. For Honors P2P system is alot more complex then your traditional P2P than Destiny or other P2P games. Take a read and then make your judgements, don't base what your hearing from OP since he has no facts. It's not just a host system. It's not on the level of dedicated servers but it's not too bad.
-
6 RepliesAh yes, P2P connection, the thing that people on McDonald's wifi complain about.
-
Fast? It shows in plenty of time where the hits are coming from. The games a joke.

3 RepliesThe standard for fighting games is p2p.
-
3 RepliesSounds like a you problem. My connection is completely flawless.
-
8 RepliesI read it as "pay to play"
-
7 RepliesIt's bad, but if you're disconnecting a lot it most likely means you need to port-forward or change firewall settings. Like I said it's bad, but you can do things to improve it.
-
2 RepliesP2P was a bad move imo. I also think it gives players a chance to manipulate, lag switch for example. I didn't realise this game was P2P. Definitely not buying now I'm aware of that.
-
4 RepliesI have had no issues at all and ive been playing nonstop for the past 6ish hours. Havent lagged/DCd once. Problems probably on your end buddy.
-
Honestly P2P connection doesn't bother me. A lot of great games used that system in the past, and even then it didn't bother me. Game stops for a few seconds and resumes, who cares as long as the game is fun and works. Dedicated servers should be the standard for all AAA games today, but this shouldn't be a deal breaker.
-
2 RepliesThey said the full game won't have dropouts like it does in the beta (can't trust that tho). I've yet to have a lot of issues with p2p connection. A lot of mmos have p2p connection as well
-
Eh honestly I feel like this will f up or eliminate a majority of the population dedicated to play the game. Due to the fact not everyone is tech savy or what not to commit that much to a game (what may be much for another may be not for some. .... .-_-). Me personally played the beta for day, had a blast then got home from work amd found that my internet changed to strict for some reason and no one I live with is at all or does not -blam!- with the router so it somehow happened. Due to that I decided to look up on how to make it open and what not but once I saw I could -blam!- shit up witj my internet I'm not going to bother, doing so would put a stall on the internet which could f people up due to school/work reasons. If I can get it cheap one day I'll do but for now it's a negative.
-
No surprise there
-
2 RepliesUbisoft uses peer to peer for every game except Rainbow. They have to actually work on Rainbow so they can't cheap out. Servers aren't as bad as Assassin's Creed: Revelations though. Hot dayum those were awful
-
6 RepliesI don't recall anyone having these connections issues with Halo and that ran on p2p for over 10 years. And dedicated servers can have issues as well
-
2 RepliesIt is pretty bad, almost beat a guy in a duel only to have him lag out and be replaced by a bot with full health, not to mention players disappearing and reappearing behind me, good luck keeping he lobby full till the end of a match, that's if you manage to make it into a game in the first place with the atrocious matchmaking.
-
1 ReplyHaven't experienced this problem very often. I think they may have done some work on it.
Or I'm just a lucky little fella
-
really? i haven't run into much problems, I got dropped from 2 matches so far but that's not too different from most games for me. (I use wi-fi connection)
