I have an idea. Since people who are unable to piece together a 6 man fireteam to do raids, why don't they just guarantee that anything that drops in the nightfall will be over 300 light level, so that if it is not a desired item, it at least has some infusion value and can be used to infuse legendary items all the way to light level cap of 310? That way, 3 man fireteams can still hit cap with some grinding.
Why do this? It adds a PVE option to hitting the light level cap without having to raid (for those unable to do so). The rewards will fit the effort these things take to complete. I think this makes sense. Which is why it probably won't be implemented. :/

Uhh why would someone not be able to do a raid? Using the forums and lfg is so easy that it's a joke.

My group loves to raid, but we rarely have a full fireteam because all of us are in different timezones. It wasn't a problem as you could complete the vault or crota without a full fireteam, and we would just run it multiple times to make sure everyone had it (good for practice too!) but the Kings Fall raid has been tricky at times because some raid mechanics (as far as we have worked out) require a full fireteam, so if someone has work in the AM and can't stay up late, we have to hope the weekend isn't busy. Outside of that, I know several people on this forum complain that they can't get a 6 man fireteam to go raiding with so they feel locked out of endgame content. I just think this would add a viable alternative for people in those positions. They'll be able to hit the cap, though they won't necessarily have the sweet raid gear. but it would allow them to be competitive in IB/Trials too.

Dude I've been raiding since last October and I've rarely ever not been able to find a full Fireteam. Unless you guys are on ps3 and xbox 360. Then I see the problem.

we're on 360. Have been raiding since the start of the game. With the exception of the VOG hard raid, we usually only had 4-5 players in our team at any given time. At one time, we had 2 full fireteams, but a few members quit the game after HoW was so bad, some bought a 1 and got the expansion for that system, and still others have been slow to get the expansion due to real life situations. So in all, we have just 1 full fireteam, but its comprised of members who are in different zones so its really difficult to get everyone on at the same time for long periods of time. We were hoping to avoid recruiting random players, but I finally bit the bullet and posted in raid recruitment. We'll see what responses we get.

Oh yeah there's much more players on current gen consoles so it's really easy to find others

Yeah. It wasn't a big deal before, but now that its necessary to have 6 members to conquer certain mechanics in Kings Fall, we may need to pick up a 6th for sure, maybe a swing 7th and 8th. I would not mind getting back to having 2 full fireteams, but we're all pretty tight knit, and while some of us can go get xbx 1's tomorrow if we want, not every member can, so we are trying to hold off to convert until everyone can.
