Here is a question I really want to ask the community. What do you mean by mechanics? Do you mean the things that you are forced to do to bring a boss to a vulnerable state to deal damage? Or are you talking about wanting to just shoot the boss and have it fight back? Because either way there are mechanics. A boss that just sits there with a dumb look at you as you shoot them and they shoot back... that isn't a raid boss. Heck that doesn't even qualify as a boss. So here is a better thing you should be saying as a community. Do you want a more active boss as a threat? Or more puzzle element to figure out how to drop his shields?

  • I know this was asked a few days ago but i figured i would respond anyway. I dont mind mechanics in raids, but i dislike how unforgiving they are. The ability for seasond raiders to help clutch a failing encounter were the highlights of my d1 experiance. There are very few opportunities like that in d2 raids. I felt like d2 raids, once someone died, that was basically a wipe. Now, i will say, i have not yet attempted the spire or new raid yet. I am still getting my power level to that point of being capable to hold my own.

  • I clearly stated the solution in my post.

... -sigh- This community really is hopeless. The fact you all think the Last Wish is hard makes every person that has done a raid outside of Destiny gag and then laugh at us. This raid... is easy. This is the bare minimum basic training of raiding. These aren't raids. These aren't hard. As the community continues to beg raids to get easier and easier the raiders are moving away and further away to other games. If anything... we need a prestige raid for this that is alot more demanding.

  • I already beat the first three encounters in minutes. Do you even read before projecting your negativity?

No... all of these encounters are incredibly easy. This is far from negative. You screw up a mechanic, you die or you get a harsh debuff. That is what raiding is. Its supposed to be brutal and you bash your head against a giant wall slowly getting better at perfecting it. Here is the thing: Raids are not designed for every player to participate or beat. Raids are designed specifically for players that have mastered the basics of the game and wish to prove themselves through skill and teamwork against the greatest challenges the dev team can throw at them. You don't clear a raid normally after 3 weeks. No. Most teams will take them over a month to clear raids. Some never get to clear raids. Edit: And finally about timers... this is the most absurd request of all. There is a thing called ENRAGE and its a thing in EVERY RAID IN THE HISTORY OF ALL GAMES WITH RAIDS. Its a basic component of raiding.

  • What do you mean by mastered, if you mastered the game already than you should be bored. The raid is suppose to be entertaining, not something to master, this is a shooter game isn't it?

Mastered the basics of the game. Read very carefully there. Meaning you know how the game functions and know what tools you have at your disposal when you go into a raid.
The raid is suppose to be entertaining, not something to master, this is a shooter game isn't it?
Its a raid. The vast majority of this community don't know what raids are. No, these aren't raids. Raids are the ultimate challenges of the developer in the game for PvE players to come together as teams. "19 hours world's first happened?" That is normal in most world first runs sometimes. In reality the general raiding communities can take weeks if not a month or more after raids come out to clear them. Its supposed to be the end game activity that you struggle with and come back to try and clear. Its how you get better at it. Raids aren't for everyone.

  • And the shitty call out mechanics and symbol games are exactly why Destiny 2 raids are terrible... You brought up 19 hour world first.. Yet once you know the silly symbol calling and plate jumping it becomes a 30 minutes bore... Jumping through hoops and plates are lazy raid design.. It’s no different than a boss who just sits there letting you shoot it.. Except now you need to play some stupid symbol game to take its shield off... A boss that fights back is the only way Destiny raids stop being boring..

Yup. Totally agree. Although I would argue the 19 hours was more a sympotom because world's first run were waisting runs dying and not seeing the whole encounters because of power differences and how hard the adds would hit them. Not really them screwing up mechanics. Look callouts are in raids, but they usually are callouts on what attacks are coming up so everyone knows what to do and if they get targeted for the attack.
