I'm dead that's perfectly ironic. Carry on TommieC, carry on.

It's an exotic and IMO is how all exotics should be. Powerful with fast ttk. I think it's fun and you obviously like crutches... I mean swords. Good for you, I don't care how much better or worse I am. I am playing for fun, not to make a living.

I'll use a sword every blue moon in PVP, but I'm a fusion/linear fusion rifle dude. You're just playing for fun, with The Colony? You don't think those sword people are playing for fun, with their swords?[/i]

Yeah, I get that. You know what , all these a$$holes in this forum who can say nothing positive or have a civil conversation and insult me have convinced me. I'm onboard! SWORDS FOR EVERYONE!! NERF COLONY! MATCHMAKING IS PERFECT! NERF ALL CLASSES EXCEPT HUNTERS BECAUSE THEY SUCK! TRIALS IS THE ONLY WAY TO PROVE WHO REALLY MATTERS! THANKS FOR THE KOOL-AID BUNGIE! Destiny 2 is perfect, you are right.

Eat a snickers. You’re not you when you’re hungry.

Get over yourself and stop your self-serving idiocy. Swords trade-off range for close-range lethality. There are no downsides to the Colony. Bakengangsta has a video where he literally shoots the Colony directly into the air and still gets kills.
-
Self serving idiocy!? Really? I value your opinion, too. I can listen to arguments against the colony, too, if you could present it to me in a more grown-up way. But, I have my doubts.
-
You're right. Forgive me, it was late. I'll try again in a more grown-up manner. Let's look at the entire concept of the Colony. You shoot a grenade, the grenade travels in a straight line unless it finds a target in which case it follows that target until it explodes. It's an excellent concept, and damned if it isn't cool, but the way it's implemented is just too powerful. Now I don't know where you draw the line for OP, but I draw it right about where it becomes physically impossible to fight back. The Colony can kill you without line-of-sight. You can be killed without being able to shoot the person with the Colony which definitely qualifies for me. Nevertheless, the debate over how Exotics should operate will muddy this point, so I'll drop this line of reasoning. How about the archetype? A good Exotic with a good perk tends to use unfavorable archetypes in conjunction with its perk to achieve its unique effect. The Colony doesn't do that. I would argue that the Lightweight archetype of grenade launchers is the most heavily underused, where the Colony obviously runs with a much larger mag. In conjunction with the Colony's perk, the ability to spit out multiple auto-seeking grenades gives it such a tremendous amount of strength. It's not something that can be fought. The wielder can shoot four of them in rapid succession and they'll do all the work. And with the short (relatively) respawn times on power ammo, the Colony will just keep on going. It's essentially free kills. At least with Swords you have to run around and deal with hit registration. Again, I'm sorry for my rude language earlier. I perceive swords and the Colony to be equally strong, the Colony perhaps more so, since you don't have to be smart with it, and that irks me.
-
It's actually easy to avoid, pay attention to when someone with colony gets ammo, stay out of inclosed spaces and jump.
-
No I understand the basics of how to avoid that, but "staying out of enclosed spaces" covers the vast majority of D2's combat spaces. In addition, jumping away from opponents generally has adverse effects on my health, since they tend to push right after scattering people with the Colony.
-
My only point is awareness and learning to counter (which everything can be)
-
Apology accepted and thank you. I see your point, however, I still think ALL exotics in the power slot should be, well, powerful. The thing is I use it specifically because if I don't I'm at a huge disadvantage. I don't HAVE to use it, I CAN use swords, too. My whole point is ALL the legendary swords feel as powerful to use as an exotic. If swords, especially the quickfang, we're exotics I guess I wouldn't think twice about it. Shrug, I've beat this dead horse too long and Bungie doesn't care anyway.
-
Swords feel exactly like they should: Swords. They feel powerful because they're easy to pick up and are OHKs. They're different from projectile weapons so must be evaluated differently. Also might I suggest an alternative to the Colony?
