Too much ammo, invincible frames in the animation, 1 hit kills, 3rd person view around corners, radar stays visible, and movement speed increases are absolutely the biggest crutch and need to be nerfed. A LOT!

There is only one true destiny sword and it's called raze lighter.

I use a sword and I have had a lot of fun with it but when I face a well organized team with skill I usually go down before I get a single swing in. You know what usually kills me when I grab some sword ammo, a little robot spider that will hunt me down without mercy. Darn those little buggers.

That only sword that is a pain in the -blam!-ing ass is quickfang. Other than that a grenade, watching corners, and some gun fire will shut them down
-
The only stupid thing about swords is that you need ammo to use them. Wtf is that?

1 thing you forget to say........ They have a range of about 3 feet and you have 2 guns.
-
Swords are neither stupid nor smart. As they do not have any intelligence.

Edited by BozzyTheDrummer: 2/2/2018 11:46:31 PMI really like using the swords. I don't use them as much because I seem to die a lot more when using them, but i think they are fine. In my opinion, for PvP, i think the sword gets just enough ammo. If you are able to stay alive long enough, and make your way to each heavy ammo drop on the map while getting kills, you get a good bit of ammo, but definitely not too much. Everyone has their own playing style and weapon they are comfortable with and everyone has their own opinion. Just like you use the Colony for fun, I too use the colony for fun as it's a really fun gun to use. Just the same, I often use the swords for fun, because I think they are fun. Adds somewhat of a variety to what feels like a stale playing experience. Edit: this is in no means to shoot down your opinion of swords or that nature, just me expressing what I think.

You know what is stupid. People running towards swords. If you see a sword picked up, you dont go engaging anyone at close range. Easy as that.
-
4 RepliesYou should've seen them in D1.
-
Too much ammo? This is your first destiny game isn't it.
-
Cool story bro.

1 ReplyIt is not the weapon that needs to be nerfed. Just like a sword or rocket launcher, every weapon that takes heavy ammo is a crutch weapon in PVP. the game usually goes, start off with Mida tool, if you're getting nowhere with that then run around to all the heavy ammo slots and kill people from 5 feet away with rocket launchers or hide on a corner and rush them with the sword. no comebacks no dogfighting skills in fact no skill at all. if you want real skill players remove the heavy ammo and let's see you fight

You people need to stop whining. If you don’t like it don’t play. They aren’t op.
-
no your stupid

Cool story bro.

16 RepliesAhhh.. The Colony equipped on all three characters, I see. Classssiiiccc post. 🤣
-
they need a buff you used to be able to block shots in D1. if you try to block you take like two shots and then do this like dazed animation like you are surprised your sword disappeared before you can move again lol
-
Swords stuck I D2 wtf are you on about? They felt way -blam!-ing better in D1, I feel stupid as hell using them in D2. I D1 you were a bad ass.
-
Yea bring back exotic swords and let's watch the world burn 😎
-
Swords are so easy to counter. Almost no one runs them anymore because they're terrible. If you want to ape get an Acrius.
-
There are no invincibility frames...
-
2 RepliesI'm taking you to Kawaii Town with my Quickfang. Ninja sword is best sword.
-
This is why weapons were nerfed left and right in D1. Because of babies crying that they're "op" just because they cant counter them.

you know whats funny ? you can use one too.......
waits for " thats scruby play " comment.. that I'll rebuttle with .. "read this"
The derogatory term “scrub” means several different things. One definition is someone (especially a game player) who is not good at something (especially a game). By this definition, we all start out as scrubs, and there is certainly no shame in that. I mean the term differently, though. A scrub is a player who is handicapped by self-imposed rules that the game knows nothing about. A scrub does not play to win. Now, everyone begins as a poor player—it takes time to learn a game to get to a point where you know what you’re doing. There is the mistaken notion, though, that by merely continuing to play or “learn” the game, one can become a top player. In reality, the “scrub” has many more mental obstacles to overcome than anything actually going on during the game. The scrub has lost the game even before it starts. He’s lost the game even before deciding which game to play. His problem? He does not play to win. The scrub would take great issue with this statement for he usually believes that he is playing to win, but he is bound up by an intricate construct of fictitious rules that prevents him from ever truly competing A common call of the scrub is to cry that the kind of play in which one tries to win at all costs is “boring” or “not fun.” Who knows what objective the scrub has, but we know his objective is not truly to win. Yours is. Your objective is good and right and true, and let no one tell you otherwise. You have the power to dispatch those who would tell you otherwise, anyway. Simply beat them. Let’s consider two groups of players: a group of good players and a group of scrubs. The scrubs will play “for fun” and not explore the extremities of the game. They won’t find the most effective tactics and abuse them mercilessly. The good players will. The good players will find incredibly overpowering tactics and patterns. As they play the game more, they’ll be forced to find counters to those tactics. The vast majority of tactics that at first appear unbeatable end up having counters, though they are often quite subtle and difficult to discover.
