At least Destiny 1 have us something to work for over time. Destiny 2 just hands everything out to everyone no matter how much you play. Destiny 1 have us a reason to play for hours each week. Destiny 1 had us work for what we had. Destiny 1 had us put time and effort into what we had, even though it was all luck based. Destiny 1 heavily improved over time. If you expected amazing emotes and customization in the FIRST GAME in its vanilla state then you are expecting to much. Not to mention most high their shaders are microtransactions in Destiny 2, and all ships and sparrows are now as well unless you count the uncommon ones... Nightfall and strikes in general were fun in Destiny 1. We could take our time, with updates we got a ton of modifiers. In Destiny 2 all we got were less modifiers and a timer. Strikes in Destiny 2 aren't as fun, or as rewarding. Everything feels so much bullet spongier in Destiny 2 honestly. Obviously the ascendant and radiant materials were an issue, which was fixed. But I'd rather see upgrade materials than tokens. Vanguard/Crucible/Legendary marks were what made the game rewarding. It gave us a reason to run strikes and crucible as many times as we could a week so we could get a reward. Remember when Vendors had an actual inventory and you picked exactly what gear you got when you saved up enough marks? I remember that. I also remember not just running around farming public events all day because it's the only efficently rewarding non end game activity there is to just turn in tokens and get randomly rewarded 2 shitty weapons you had already gotten 30 times rather than the god damn gauntlets I wanted. Also when they were low frequency they actually felt special. Now they're just there. I remember looking forward to seeing Xur, whether I had enough coins or not. The thought of Exotics always seemed cool back then. Now in Destiny 2 we get so many handed to us, Xur has less of an inventory so far and I have more legendary shards than I know what to do with right now. We still need to farm for shaders. (And I'm one of the bias ones here?) At least when we got one that was all we needed. We still need to go through 2 loading screens, it's just packed into 1 now. We may not have been able to slap shaders on sparrows and ships but at least we didn't have to buy them with real money or just hope they drop randomly for us for a microtransaction based engram. I also like how you talk about the weekly strikes in Destiny which Destiny 2 doesn't even have. I'll also mention how we can't even select crucible modes anymore either.

Yup it’s time to FARM kills to upgrade nodes and planetary materials . Oh also you’re gonna need ascendant materials !! But that’s easy just buy a weapon or armour with your vanguard or crucible marks and break it down ....that is once you FARM strikes and crucible matches that is to get them !! Now you did that and you have 100 of each Mark just buy the gear you need !! Oh wait the cheapest item is 40 marks for armour and 150 for weapons !!! Oh well you can always farm next week again and save up !! But not too much as there is a cap of 200 marks !! Want a high-ish chance at an exotic ?? Easy !! Go to your computer or phone and load up destiny lfg website !! Now sign up for an account !! Done that ? In my opinion they improved PvP a lot. They improved PvE/patroll a lot. RNG is still a bitch though. More chance to get stuff you already have. Every legendary engram i get always turns into the same 2 armor pieces.

Your first part is incorrect. D2 has more strikes, exotics, pvp modes (6 to 4), weapons (getting a different perk on a weapon doesnt add to the weapon count, it's still the same weapon), etc. at launch than d1 had. But why let facts get in the way.
