Finally got around to checking your stats. They aren't bad at all, but they aren't a far cry from mine. I'm guessing you were an H2-H3 player. We both know this game is child's play for any classic halo top >2% player, but if you really think it's worse than D1... You've lost your way.
I loved halo 2/3. More so halo 2 bc halo 3s random spread BR was bs.
But yes I am without a doubt saying destiny 1 pvp is better than destiny 2 pvp.
With. A. Few. Exceptions.
Things destiny 2 got right- Abilities being nerfed and costing longer to recharge.
Supers needing more time to charge.
Things destiny 2 got wrong- Literally everything else.
The problem is when they nerfed abilities and supers they took away a LOT of the power you have as an individual player. Then on top of that literally every single gun in this game takes longer to kill someone than it does in D1, besides autos they got a much needed buff in TTK.
So what does that leave us with? Weaker individual players that promote a team shot campfest of a game.
Why use a handcannon when autos kill faster and are easier to use?
Why use a pulse rifle when scouts do everything they do, but do it better?
Best example I can give- Handcannons still have ghost bullets, they have pitiful range in comparison to D1, and there TTK went from .8 seconds to 1.4 minimal.
You seriously don't think that something about that needs to be adjusted?
Hell even the damn mida that everyone is bitching about kills slower in destiny 2 than it does on D1.
It's not that the mida is the best weapon in the game, but it is the best team shooting weapon in the game.
And team shooting is what will eventually drive people away from this game, most people, or at least in my experience, do NOT enjoy playing games that rely on team shooting as the best way to play.
It's one of the major reasons why halo fell off the earth and COD took over.
I do agree that HCs and Pulse rifles are redundant due to ARs and SRs, but base TTK isn't the overall issue. I mean, the H2 battle rifle had an optimal TTK of what... 1.2-1.6 seconds? The issue, in this case, lies in hitbox size and lack of strafe effectiveness... Assuming nobody cares about frag shots.
I dedicated my last years of high school to competitive Halo 3 and no game has since come close. I still play it and enjoy it almost every time I can get a custom lobby going.
Destiny 1; however... I can't even imagine myself playing that again, and I averaged like a 2.5KDR playing trials and whatever once every few months or so (never warmed up or well practiced) at the end.
