Use a gun with health regen. Red death or suros make it easier. The tom version can be a real bitch to solo. what I typically do is hang back in the door corridor (the one you come in thru). If your titan go defender. If your hunter go blade dancer with invis. If your a warlock rez or stormcaller works. (I like rez: fusion nades help keep the mobs out of the corridor) Burn the shade as fast as you can. Sniper first then switch to heavy to kill adds and burn the shade more. Use your primary to heal.
