No solo, it must be done by 6 players. No random matchmaking, only pair with up your people in your friends list

You can also pair up with randoms at the tower. Just invite them into your fire team . Its like recruiting .

You can but without any form of communication in the tower unless you invite them to fireteam, you are just gonna waste alot of time doing it. Bungie really need to add a chat window...
