why do people still not know how to play Gambit?
its almost as if nothing has changed. still in lobbies with people that just run around shooting things and just dying. losing all motes they have, dying by invaders.. this is ridiculous.

Dont confuse not knowing how to play with not giving a crap about engaging with a playlist that gets very little support. Their latest change was "give all 8 players full heavy reserves and health gate the boss" I mean, cmon

I like Gambit. That being said it’s a mode that to this very date has less maps than it did back in season on 6. Bringing back forced invulnerability on bosses was not the right answer.

This is what happens when people are forced into an activity. The same issues happen in pvp and a lot of the pve content. So why would a mix of those two be any different

Sure we do. Collected bounties from drifter, play 3 matches, focus on personal bounties, job done. How hard is that?

Most of the time, it’s not that they don’t know how to play. It’s just they don’t care. Gambit is in a bad state. It’s been for a long time. People who don’t want to be in the playlist are probably focusing on bounties instead of winning. They don’t care about losing 15 motes, as long as they get their 3 wins and a couple of bounties completed. This is a simple side effect of trying to coax players to play an unpopular playlist. I can imagine this happens in trials all the time.

I mean instead of complaining sbout blueberrys why not complain about how erianas vow is one shoting everyone cause of a damage bug with the mode itself

5 RepliesHonestly, Bungie simply needs to create a full Gambit tutorial questline that puts you into a non-matchmade instance of Gambit where you play against AI. This questline needs to be mandatory before going into Gambit. The problem is that most people understand Strikes and most people understand Crucible as fundamental modes. Gambit is such a different game mode where if you don't know what's going on, you are just looking to kill things. The reason most people avoid Gambit is because they are tired of playing with potatoes that have no clue how the game mode works. If a tutorial can't fix the problem, maybe an IQ test.

4 RepliesBounties don't require wins; players don't care to try to win. Plain and simple. Make all bounties require a gambit win in order for progress to apply to them and/or in order to be completed and turned in, then all players have to play to win. And make the bounties all related to objectives: bank motes, kill envoy, summon boss, send blockers, kill blockers, kill guardians as fireteam and remove the x element and x weapon type bounties.

gambit is all about completing Bounties and getting the pinnacle. I have even seen people just run around, go AFK, then run around again and do pretty much minimum required. Destiny has grind left and right. Therefore, people find anyway to by pass that. Bungie does not know where to make things grindy and where let people have fun.

4 RepliesMy son use to play gambit and other pvp modes. He is 8 now and plays other shooting games. He has the time of his life running around shooting whatever guns he thought was cool. my point is you don't know anything about the people who you are playing with or against. Not everyone is as good as you.

1 ReplyI mean, there is a medal called: "Following Instructions" Let that sink in. I keep reminding myself that this exists. Gambit [i][b]can[/b][/i] be fun, but it's still pretty circumstantial on the player caliber and desire to even want to win a game. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Bungie forgot how to make gambit so expecting people to know how to play it is kinda a stretch. People claimed solo cue playlists would fix everything. It seems they have yet to “fix” any playlist they joined. Is there any build or destiny players will be happy with? [spoiler]no[/spoiler]

I think there are a whole bunch of distracted Guardians trying to figure out how to kill Weakened, Suppressed, or Volatile enemies for bounties while dodging Eriana's Vow artillery.

3 RepliesI love the players that keep running around when you need 3 motes to spawn primeval, nope they gotta get that 15 for the big blocker. Oops, they get killed by invader, or die from enemies, or best the other team catches up and pulls their primeval. Last night, had a teammate run around for about a minute or so when we needed 2 motes, had to get 13 for some reaspn, then just stand by the bank and not deposit for another minute or so.

To be fair a lot of us aren’t the biggest fans of gambit so we jump in there to have some fun but like if it really affects how much you enjoy it. Jump in with a team of 4 and just win. If that doesn’t sound fun then jump in with some random people and try do the hard carry

1 ReplyYou mean we can "choose" to not get nuked by an invader or screeb or other explody thing? There must be a play mode I have never seen. Sarcasm mode off. Other then hiding off in lala land, which often won't work for with a talented invader, killing the invader is always the smartest move unless you have 10 or more motes then hiding but preped to rocket an invader is also pretty damned smart. But in all seriousness, I 'used' to love Gambit but with this new mess-up I run it for bounties and to try and be done with it as fast as possible. Usually the fastest way to do that is by winning and often by ignoring invaders when the Prime is up but nuke the hell out of them if you can. But truth be told, I get my bounties and I'm more then happy to loose, even if I do hate loosing especially in Gambit! So if you happen to be on my team and we are doing well, I go hard for the win. If no one else deals with blockers, invaders, ect, then its all about the bounties and then letting the other team finish us off as fast as possible. But I do not try to sabotage a match. I swear there are people that invade and then camp in order to make sure the other team wins faster. That's soooo not me!!!
