I know Arc 3.0 is coming out eventually™ but it's kind of lame how many bad exotics there are to buff arcstrider. It would be nice if you gave it some kind of buff so the exotics actually felt like they did more than buff one aspect of the super to feel like it's where it should be at minimum.
It's a mediocre super at best. Bad in pve because the boss damage sucks and you're exposed using it. Bad in pvp because it has poor mobility, so much of your energy is spent just trying to chase kills. At least reflect in mid tree makes you less at risk being killed but it still feels weak, the reflect working just depends on someone not knowing any better than to just run.
It doesn't matter which exotic you put on. Raiju's harness feels like it does something that should be standard to arcstrider and the reflect. Raiden flux feels like it gives you better duration but it still feels like you're hitting bosses with a wet blanket not to mention the risk of death just having to sit there for so long to eventually get noticeable damage out of it. Both of these exotics are "switch" exotics. They are absolutely pointless to have equipped, and if you're in an activity that locks equipment you'll never use them.
And that brings us to Blight ranger. Have you ever made a more useless, gimmicky exotic? There is no situation in which focusing on deflecting actually nets you better damage than just doing a quick deflect and using the super itself.
I hope with arc 3.0 you're just going to make middle tree arc super the default for all of arc along with some basic buffs like more move speed, better uptime, no energy expenditure on reflect as standard, etc.
For the love of god, buff the arcstrider exotics to actually make the super impactful instead of borderline acceptable.

My assumption is in 3.0 there will be a way to deploy the guard outside of super which might actually make it quite good. But we'll see.
-
2 RepliesThey need to give all exotics that aren't universal, a pve AND pvp perk. Blight ranger is useless in pve and serves no purpose, but it it increased literally anything in pve it would be cool to run. Although arcstrider is easily the worst super in pve either way
-
its bad because they want you to use void which isn't good for every situation and probably gonna get nerfed because of the outcry even though it can be countered. I hope arc 3.0 is good for hunters but i'm just gonna hold my breath. This community and Bungie won't allow hunters to do what they do and when hey do its short lived which is why I don't invest heavy into hunters, I only play it to learn how to beat it nothing more and nothing less. I am more interested in solar than anything.

Edited by PVP SUX: 3/17/2022 9:55:50 AMSo is a Titan with 300 mods and fifteen exotics in his back pocket. Like farting around on a moped up against a German Panzer! Thank god for Master Chief! P.S Can we skip Arc 3.0 and Sunbreaker 3.0 and go for 4.0 or 5.0 instead I feel that 3.0 is broken already!

2 RepliesAll one and done exotics are trash, have you seen skull of ahamkara on warlocks? Its so bad its not even worth being used as a switch off exotic. Switch off exotics in general are garbage, those type of exotics should all be like crown of tempest where it boost the super but also slightly boost the neutral game of players. Why would anyone ever bother using an exotic that they will only ever get to use once or twice per game?
-
12 RepliesI never liked arcstrider because each super tree feels exactly the same. Personally I hope that when Arc 3.0 comes out, Arcstrider gets the super split into the arc staff and a ranged super that lets you throw lightning bolts like Zeus.

1 ReplyBro raiden flux makes the parry into a block. That's what makes it exotic. Normally the super is just a parry, block an attack and counter attack for triple damage. It's not meant to be held for a long time, that's why it drains so quickly normally. It isn't that raiden flux should be standard to the super, it's just that people don't understand the parry mechanic. That rant aside I completely agree that blight ranger is a laughably bad exotic. It follows the notion that the parry is indeed a block, but doesn't have a slower super depletion rate like Raiden Flux. The exotic would perform fine if it was given this addition, but it could be reworked entirely too. A simple change such as having it extend the riposte damage window would make the exotic a solid A tier for arc strider alone. Personally, I view it as either the dev team not understanding arc strider or the community not fully realizing the potential of the exotic yet.

6 RepliesBiggest problem for me is that hunters can barely move without stompies, so I’m stuck wearing them. Stompies needs a different perk, and regular movement should be buffed to be like that of stompies.

I only recall one time when arc was useful (for Hunter) and that was the boss for SOS raid.!

Maybe instead of reflecting every individual thing it could "bank" up a damage charge. The more damage you take the higher this stacking buff goes. When you stop blocking, all the damage you collected gets blasted back as a burst of arc energy. Having some kind of indicator on the side of your screen showing what damage tier youre at would be nice. Maybe give it anti barrier properties? Lastly it should auto release all the damage right before your super ends to prevent accidentally greeding too hard. Just picture this. You stand in front of a bunch of ads and some champions. Unstoppable ogre is just laying the heat into your shield. Barrier sniper is in the back beaming you. You check the side of your screen and patiently wait as the stacks steadily go up. 5x..6x..7x.. You call out to your teammates to stun the ogre. Right before your super ends you sandwich the ogre between yourself and the barrier sniper...BANG. A railgun like burst launches out of your now exhausted arc staff and obliterates both the unstoppable and barrier champions. Room is clear. +2 revives.

Edited by Verke0: 3/15/2022 10:23:15 PMI already knew it was gonna suck when they announced it. The orb generation 'can' be very useful for your team, because it makes a lot of big orbs, but thats what you want to use your super for. To me, Raiden Flux is still thé top tier arcstrider exotic for pve, it makes the best roaming super God tier, destroying mobs and champions even in GM. Top tree arcstrider also has the best super cooldown rate if you use the right mods.

Raiden Flux, NEXT?

5 RepliesThere is only one Arcstrider exotic I will ever use. Liar’s Handshake. Jump in the middle of the pit and punch everything. Go toe to toe with an Ogre? Punch his knees out. Floofy wizard floating about? Jump punch it’s face off. Teleporting shielded taken Captain zipping around? Eh. Probably try to shoot that one. Then proceed to punch Everything!!!!! The end.

Honestly I feel they should rework it to make blight ranger give some kinda new buff or something that works like devour but for arc. Make it do something called overcharge where enemies hit by arc damage start super charging your abilities to regenerate faster, but no instant health on kill. Maybe overshield based on enemies hit (if they make arc 3.0 a massive crowd control element where lightning just arcs to everything).
-
3 RepliesIf they made an exotic that gave Hunters their blink jump back I’d use it with arcstrider.
-
I for one love bottom tree arcstrider in PvP. I’ve ran that tree since this game started pretty much. In my opinion that specific tree is the most balanced in the game.

Edited by Link: 3/15/2022 4:37:51 PMCan’t believe they made and exotic worse than winter’s guile. Never thought it possible.

They should have made it buff reflect damage and give more orbs on ANY super. Then at least this beatifull thing could be used.
-
3 RepliesEdited by Joulevette12: 3/15/2022 7:33:38 AMHonestly they should have add that perk with "super kills refund super energy" super focus exotic not the best exotic to use in the game without a extra perk Liar's Handshake and Raiden flux will outshine it

Edited by theNorwegianBlue: 3/15/2022 2:22:44 PMI don't understand their obsession with the arcstaff twirl. Isn't this the 2nd exotic centered on it? It's such a circumstantial super it has almost no use

2 RepliesYeppp. Definitely regret that pick at the end for sure and I told myself I would pick the gauntlets.

Not sure why they made a new exotic for Whirlwind Guard when Raiju's Harness already exists. They could have simply added the reflect damage boost to it instead. Hoping Arcstrider 3.0 gets a deflect melee ability or something.
