Bungie ID name change not working?
It gives me the option to, says i can, but when i hit save changes its just pops up with (17) and says i can't. I'm not sure what the issue is cause it doesn't specifiy and i've looked all over the place, any awnsers would be of great help

16 RepliesEdited by FunPolice: 3/14/2022 7:49:37 PMI just posted this on another thread but so it’s here for newer posts: I have a workaround that I was able to just do a few hours ago (for issues around it saying you do not have any changes available or you cannot change your name). Steps require using a Chrome or FireFox browser on a computer (or any browser with a Dev Tool): 1) login to your account and go to the account settings page with the user name field. 2) Right-click on user name input field and select “Inspect Element”. 3) In the element inspector panel that opens, you should have the username input field selected. 4) find the “disabled” tag, and double click to highlight it, and press delete key to remove this disabled tag. 5) Now you will be able to type in the input field up on the page. 6) Change your name and hit Save. Remember it will only work one time!! So be sure you type it correctly.

Bump again for the Error (17) error until this actually gets addressed.

That is the only thing that worked so far regarding Destiny 2 I'm so happy!

Yeah the error (17) thing has not been addressed at all as of now. It’s irritating.

1 Replyhasn't been working since they announced it and no update on it either. same with the gambit mess, not one word on it.

Are you all using the mobile app or computer? You should be using your PC or Laptop to do this, because you will run into problems using the mobile app.

Same here - we have yet to get any acknowledgement around it from Bungie or via Bungie Help’s Twitter. Please check out the FAQ thread on here and upvote, along with the comment I posted asking to add this error to the FAQ. Maybe with enough noise we can get some acknowledgement that the issue is under investigation, at least. As of now, no idea if anything’s being done or if Bungie’s just shrugging their shoulders about it.
