Good? Yes. Outstanding on paper? Yes. Top tier weapon? No.
I don't think you understand the concept of overdamaging targets and TTK.
Not as much range as a high impact scout. Not as accurate as a high impact scout. High impact scouts can hit headshots at longer ranges with less damage dropoff. Slower TTK than a high impact scout. If you're using a handcannon for range, you might want to rethink things.
By all means have fun using it. There's no reason you can't do well, but if you want to have a discussion about what is optimal, First Curse doesn't come up.
Oh and if we want to be silly and worry about killing majors with a primary, I'll race you with my Jade Rabbit vs your First Curse. :D (The damage per shot for First Curse may be higher but sustained DPS definitely is not.)

I think two shots are faster than any scout rifle or any gun for the matter. Again, if you're good with primaries, you will be unstoppable. It's just that most people don't want to use a slow firing gun because they can't spam fire it until they get a kill. First Curse, in the right hands in definitely a top tier gun that can outguns most weapons on a regular basis and destroy in PvE. Thats not even with the buff active. It basically doubles then.

(Maybe there are 1% of people that run minimum armor in Crucible but a kill is going to require three headshots 99% of the time.) You're trying so hard to convince yourself that it's SO good but it's just not. It's ok to use it and have fun without it being "top tier." You can even take more pride in doing well with a less than optimal weapon.

I do well with it every match so I believe it to be one of the best and most rewarding weapons in the game. Thats only if you have good primary skill.
