I will disagree. I think Marathon can potentially help Destiny. People with no interest in destiny will play Marathon, if the guns feel good (they will), the visuals are solid (they will be) and the game loop is addictive (this is the wait and see part), it'll be fine.
People will try D2 if they enjoy Marathon. Maybe not 100k new players per day, but enough that it will be noticeable. Again, all conjecture, but I think it is sound reasoning.

No win situation for destiny. Marathon does bad it might close bungo up and who knows what sony might do with it. If Marathon does good then it's bringing in the money so guess who gets the attention? The new shiny toy.
