yada yada only way destiny gets better is if marathon fails at this point
-
Honestly the delay isn't as bad as the lack of a roadmap that's been promised for 6 months. Just think about it, they can't even tell us the plans for the future of the game, so does that mean they don't have any? They used to work on stuff well in advance, heck we got names for the supposed next year of this saga. But now they can't even provide some kind of base line plans for the future, when the players really need some kind of assurance. Honestly, it's crazy how downhill everything went after Final Shape

Marathon will absolutely fail, just like Concord, High Guard, etc. Sony will probably dissolve Bungie because of that. And just like those failboats, the powers that be won't learn anything and will just blame the players for not gobbling up the slop.
-
41 RisposteJust be aware if marathon fails Sony could just shut bungie and destiny down. They are known to do that.
-
It's cute you actually think D2 will get better, if Marathon fails. Marathon is just the new excuse people use for D2's issues, and that it will magically be saved if the other thing crashes and burns.
-
They should just put it down like the wounded animal it is
-
7 RisposteI will disagree. I think Marathon can potentially help Destiny. People with no interest in destiny will play Marathon, if the guns feel good (they will), the visuals are solid (they will be) and the game loop is addictive (this is the wait and see part), it'll be fine. People will try D2 if they enjoy Marathon. Maybe not 100k new players per day, but enough that it will be noticeable. Again, all conjecture, but I think it is sound reasoning.

4 RisposteI met a stranger from an antique land who said “RIP KHEPRIS HORN”
-
2 RisposteI’ll try out marathon over the free server slam out of curiosity, but I -blam!- you not, I’m breaking down boxes to recycle at my restaurant, and found this! Lol https://imgur.com/a/GzN00SM Divine irony haha I hope Marathon is a good game; just not my cup of tea.
-
I'm not complaining. It's a great time for me to make my way through my backlog. I started my seventh game of the year today.
-
2 RisposteThey probably realized Marathon was a mistake at some point, and should have pulled the plug. Now they need it to succeed. Neglecting Destiny in favor of a brainrot extraction shooter seems like a bad decision but that's the choice they went with. I have no interest in Marathon but I'll make no assumptions as to how it'll be received. I'd say it's not looking good, but plenty of awful things have been successful despite sucking aßß. Pewdiepie, Twilight, Fortnite to name a few.

1 Rispondisurprised the mods didn't remove this post and block you for this - considering how much they hate anything that doesn't absolutely glaze Bungo
-
3 RisposteMarathon, with this low quality graphics and shallow Concepts, I doubt it will ever compete with what Destiny 2 was.
-
2 RisposteIf Marathon fails, Bungie fails. And Destiny ends.
-
6 RisposteI don't know if it would be technically possible, but this would be the perfect time to bring Destiny Rising to console. Marathon due to fail before launch (just as the original Portal did), and a priest already reading the last rites to Destiny, this would be a great opportunity for NetEase Games. I know I'd buy it for PS.
-
Supposing the dominos fall: 'Marathon' fails, Bungie takes a serious hit, Sony integrates the studio completely, and 'Destiny 2' gets tossed onto the refuse pile, where will you be then?
-
20 RisposteMarathon fails, Bungie is finished.
-
Not played in 6 months. Not buying marathon won’t be back any time soon or if at all.
-
4 RisposteActually, we probably lose both if that happens.
-
The studio will be shut down by June…
-
1 RispondiIf that happens then, like the portal, their arrogance will not allow them to admit they were wrong and they will double down on Marathon to the detriment of D2.
-
It’s sad but expected that the potential money to be made on marathon is going to kill destiny. It’s also ironic that Destiny would still be a money maker for Bungie/ Sony if they gave it the attention the players wanted. Idk. IMO.
-
-
Once we find out what is actually coming, the real question is: Will it be worth it to come back in June?
-
It’ll get better in the form of not existing anymore…
