If that many things need nerfing for you to be okay, you might be the problem.

I’d be curious to know what your opinion was about pre-nerf Antaeus, Citans, Dunemarchers, Peacekeepers, Thundercrash, Bubble, Barricade, SMGs, Shotgun/ShoulderCharge/Slide. Sometimes, there’s a lot of things that are arguably too strong in PVP at the same time - some more than others obviously but nonetheless.

If you hate playing against Titans, you can just say that, but if they have that many options, maybe it's not nerfs that are needed but buffs elsewhere to give the other kits that many options? Why hammer 50 nails when you can just pull a few up eslewhere to acheive the same effect. This all assumes I agree everything you listed was a problem, which I don't, but going point by point on that is going to take too long.

Modificato da Tall: 9/16/2024 3:11:49 PMI’m a Titan main and agree that several of those items I listed were problematic. The difference is Bungie went scorched earth on all of those things meanwhile all of the hunter nerfs so far have been very careful and specific. Peacekeepers is a great example of that. Bungie not only gutted the exotic but also SMGs too. In some cases I’d agree to buff other things to compete but that doesn’t always solve the root issue. Instead of tweaking hundreds of nails, why not hammer down the 15 or so nails that are causing problems?

They went scorched Earth on those things because they were around forever. Prismatic Hunter didn't even make it three months before it received 3 direct hits to it's kit, and sure, they didn't run it into the ground, but sins of the past can't control the future, and i'd much prefer they tick things down than bash anything overperforming into the dirt. And to be clear, I'm fine with nerfs. I think the hunter kit needed them, and I'm not going to sit here and say that only buffs should happen so we power creep to the moon and back, but if a class has a bunch of good options, I think the response should be giving the other classes that many options, not taking away from the one that has them, just as a general balance philosophy.

All but 2 of the items in my original post have been around forever - Elsie’s being an asterisk since 340s in general are very strong (I love my messenger). The amount of time a thing has been around has nothing to do with the problem, it’s the usage rate spikes that cause it. It wasn’t until everyone switched to titans after season 18 that all of those other things got nuked. Now that we’re back to a hunter meta we’re seeing the problems that come from they’re respective items. I’m not saying to destroy all of those items but tuning is definitely needed.

I don't personally mind pulses right now. Maybe hit the headseeker perk, if anything. Forerunner isn't fun to play against, but can be outgunned, especially up close. Use one of those slugs, and close the gap lol. I always hate fusions, but don't feel they're in a spot like the old main ingredient, personally. Storms Edge is complete non-issue IMO. It's very good, but it's easily killable if you catch them in animation. People just need to shoot their guns. I mean you claim Hunter is always blessed with S tier exotics, but I'm old enough to remember all the titan exotics you listed, plus synthos, and Warlocks always having Ophidian Aspects, which are still one of the best pvp exotics in the entire game, plus you threw in Astrocyte Verse, and they also have T-Steps. Hunters have some options, but if Ophidians existed on hunter, it's all I'd ever wear, personally, and if the other classes need more options, give their armor some buffs instead of knocking down the hunters armor, IMO. I just disagree that a lot of the things you listed are problems enough to be nerfed by any meaningful degree.

Modificato da Tall: 9/16/2024 4:06:19 PMI generally don’t mind pulses as much as some of the items on my list, however, Elsie’s specifically seems to overshadow all others in its weight class in my opinion. Forerunner, with the current special economy is far too free. It outguns all other weapon types it’s supposed to compete with and sure it’s easy enough to outgun it up close, but the person using it obviously has another gun in the back pocket for those engagements - which isn’t the issue I’m bringing up. It’s the fact that forerunner can get so much ammo now and is too forgiving with its aim assist that it outguns all other competitors for its intended use. Fusions, I’d agree with you again. They’re not fun to play against but also don’t have wide spread usage. My experience with them has only gone up as I solo queue 3v3 playlists and for me, they’re just too easy. Storms edge is where I completely disagree with you. The closest comparative super is thundercrash given the cooldowns and action. Both can be shot down in the right circumstances. The difference is you can shoot t crash throughout its travel however, SE teleports to the site of impact and has a wider radius but then it also gets to do that 2 more times. If we were talking about 1 impact, I’d have no complaints. It is the best in class shutdown super, bar none. Ophids and t steps are about the only meta options warlocks have. Titans have dunes, OEM and pks. Look at the exotic usage rates in trials on a given weekend and the absolute majority is and has always been hunters even excluding class items. Hunters just have so many more options available. Dunes are really only used for mobility at this point, pks actually don’t even make the list much anymore after the nerf, OEM is really only used for the overshields. Ophids are phenomenal don’t get me wrong and t steps are also very strong but for the most part they’re getting glossed over for ophids. If we had the option to get more exotics geared for pvp, I’d be all for it but what is obviously more likely to happen is tuning so that’s what I call for.

Killing someone out of TC requires a lot more skill than killing someone out of SE IMO. It's just so easy. 9/10 times they're just floating in the air pre-teleport and one guardian can clap them, and 2+ just erases them immediatley. Yes, if you do everything perfectly and stay out of all lines of sight, it's a very powerful super, but if you're playing decent players, you're not getting that 2nd/3rd cast off unless they're just straight up not paying attention in my experience. I mean I've had guys hit me with the knife and not even get to teleport because they already got melted. It just seems very easy to kill as opposed to a TC, which is at least constantly moving aside from initial cast, but hey I'm all for buffing TC lol. Sounds fun to me. Hopefully the next pass at exotic armor yields some other options for Titans and Warlocks.
