PVP Nerfs Needed

Edit 9/26: “We are also looking at Crucible-focused tuning for the Storm’s Edge Super and the Knucklehead Radar Exotic armor piece.“ lol Storms Edge Knucklehead Radar Elsie’s Rifle Forerunner Astrocyte Verse Slug Shotguns Diamond Lance on Prismatic 600 RPM ARs Fusions I’ve used and abused all of these things. Nothing in the game is more broken than prismatic hunter with Knucklehead Radar and Storms Edge. Why are hunters always blessed with so many S tier pvp exotic options while warlocks and titans maybe get 2-3? We also nerfed thundercrash because it was apparently broken but now we have a super that is infinitely better and can be used 3 times lol. Where’s the logic? I know everyone’s gonna say “hunters just got nerfed, they’re the worst, they only get played because capes, yada yada” but it’s obvious the nerf barely changed anything aside from the threadling spawns off clones. The funny part is when titans were overpowered (which I agree, they were) Bungie went scorched earth. EVERYTHING got hit across every subclass including weapon types that were typical to titans at the time. But when it’s hunters, it’s very careful and specific.

      • As a warlock main it would be nice to have a powered melee that actually kills in pvp and not just push the player which doesn't matter because people use cheats to almost magnetically get glued back to the floor or they just headshot you while floating away from you in the air. Also... suppression grenades don't do what they say they should in pvp. Players still can use their guns, jump, and use abilities. It's bad enough that the grenade won't kill you even if you're standing on it.

It’s actually pretty easy to dodge, when you know what to do, but I do think that they should reduce the AoE by a decent bit, and maybe the distance that can be covered by each knife throw. [/spoiler] Knucklehead [spoiler]As for Knucklehead, I disagree with you as far it ether or not it’s op and needs a nerf. That being said, I want a solution that would probably benefit us both. I find the wallhacks trait to be borderline useless on this exotic. I’ll explain why first. The wallhacks themselves are not bad, but the means to proc it just practical. The time needed to be staring at the opponent in order to activate the wallhacks is longer than what a normal gunfight would be. It basically means both parties need bad aim to ensure the duel goes on long enough for the target to be marked. Not to mention that peak shooting is very common and so that makes marking even more unlikely. It’s simply designed for the D2 Y1 sandbox where everything took much longer to do, and that sandbox is long gone. In my opinion the wallhacks should be removed and replaced with something that rewards the player for good gameplay. I’d rather have a less powerful perk that I can benefit from regularly than a really powerful perk that I rarely get to utilize[/spoiler] I completely disagree with Slugs needing a nerf. They are perfectly fine as they are. The rest of the stuff you mentioned I am either neutral on, or don’t have enough experience with to make a non-biased opinion on.

        this screams skill issue all over the place. storms edge is the most dodgeable super in the game. the knife actually has to hit you for you to be 100% dead from it which is a wind up skill shot which is very easy to dodge and if the knife doesnt hit you all you have to do is gain diagonal distance from where the hunter lands and you dodge it. its the only super i know im probably not dying from if cast because of how easy it is to dodge. void axe on the other hand lmfaooo you can be los'd 10m around a wall and still die to it and then it spawns void axes for whoever to pick up to kill everyone else with. knucklehead radar has been in its current state forever and still balanced. the tracking debuff only lasts 7 seconds and is actually difficult to trigger. if you know how to peek shoot properly and are not just standing out in the open odds are it will not trigger. and if you have any game sense its not hard to trade with someone with their radar up. one eyed mask is arguably better. knucklehead is only really good for blink hunters unless youre generally just fighting noobs. elsies rifle is the only gun preventing a hard hand cannon meta. ive linked two videos on why/how igneous and rose are actually much much better weapons in high skill lobbies made by two players more knowledgeable than either of us. 340s don't need nerfs because they're good at killing noobys who stand in the open. every other primary that is underused needs buffs. im sure youre just upset because you can't just lane camp a pulse with that cloud strike of yours lol. forerunner with the current special ammo system is very balanced and extremely easy to counter. just bait their shots so they waste their ammo. peak shoot them. use a gun that causes a lot of flinch. like anyone with a forerunner on is just free kd if you are not bad at the game and stand in the open there is literally nothing wrong with astrocyte verse and hasn't ever been like what kind of post is this? imagine getting blinked on your forehead because your positioning is terrible. like yikes. if slug shotguns are at all nerfs they will be entirely useless compared to max handeling/range someday and compass rose. the easy way to counter them is to out range them with a fusion or barrel stuff them with a pellet shotty. if you don't know how to do that welp thats a you problem. diamond lance requires an ability kill or the very limited window of statis weapons to spawn it. it is extremely obvious when a titan is carrying one and you can just bait them to throw it at you and miss. the only place this becomes a nusance is in 6s and even there if the titan is doing that much to get the lance then they deserve it. strong but balanced relative to everything else in prismatic. 600 rpm ars are actually extremely balanced if anything underperforming relative to other weapons. 720 autos such as the riposte are actually far far better. this is asside from the khvostov. yes the khvostov may need another nerf but it and 340s are the only guns remotely keeping hand cannons in check right now. it would be better simply to buff other guns. then again even the khvostov is easy to counter. so skill issue if anything. if fusions recieved any nerfs they would not be worth using over other close range special weapons. they have their place in the meta. they do not need nerfs or all we'll see is someday and compass rose which are in the right hands much stronger weapons. sure there is one outstanding fusion glaciocasm which could warrent a nerf on it individually but its so easy to see coming and so easily countered. skill issue. so yea all around massive skill issues here. also heres those two videos. maybe you'll learn something and get better at the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eal6J-4Y0sU&t=211s&ab_channel=CammyCakesGaming https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKtq5G5WyrE&ab_channel=LarryTrucker

        • I agree with everything except Astrocyte verse. I think it’s very unique and makes the game more interesting and aerial. It also has a skill gap to during it well

          • Okay, I've been put of the loop and pretty much never cared about PvP when I was playing regularly gut I gotta ask about two points. 1. Why Elsies rifle specifically? It can't be just the frame because you called out 609rpm autos as well. Is there a perk combo that's unique to it or something? 2. Diamond lance? In PvP? Really? People not only get them to spawn regularly, but they are apparently effective?

            • Why mention fusions when currently shotguns are the stronger weapon? If you wanna nerf fusions you have to nerf shotguns as well. Anways nerf ideas Forerunner gets less ammo from pvp bricks/boxes it's really that simple however in pve it gets a 20% body shot increase (Still makes it weak but at least now it'd be able to one shot a shank on lower difficulties), and 50% increase to shield damage. Also increase total ammo capacity by 15 Storm edge gets no dr against players and doesn't have tracking also like tcrash in pvp it has reduces aoe. In pve increase damage by 30% against bosses and 60% against red bars. Idk what to do for knucklehead Elsie bray probably just remove headseeker rn it's a hugely busted perk on pulse rifles. However 340 pulse rifles could get a 10% buff in pve since I feel like those still need some help. Diamond lance. In pvp on prismatic you need 2 ability kills to activate it. Only in pvp. Pinpoint slug Idk 600 rpm autos lower body shot damage while giving a 10% pve buff Fusions only nerf if shotguns get nerfed but reduce range of precision frames by 2-3 meters and high impacts by 1.5 meters. However if this happens give both like a 20% pve buff since these are generally the weaker frames and the main use is generally the higher range.

              • Agreed. Fusions need to be higher up there though. Most these forum mains wouldn’t get it cus they main PVE content but if you have any game sense fusions are broken weapons and need a nerf such as making them projectiles like in d1

                  • I can’t think of a time when titans were overpowered. Hunters have always been overpowered. There is no reason why their arc super should be that good and last that long.

                    • Diamond Lance on Prismatic seems okay. I do not mind rewarding ability kills. Stasis is kind of a hardball to balance, and I think it's okay! If not, what about Diamond Lance? It seems like ability kills are pretty decent to predict. Maybe it's that they get the kill and start to immediately throw the Lance at us?
