That's not why people are complaining about it. Map knowledge is incredibly powerful in any shooter you play and having the ability to safely look around corners without engaging is very valuable. Destiny is a game where you can die instantly so having the ability to safely check around corners in an instant means you can adjust to enemy player movement and take advantage of a bad push from them, because you know where they are but they don't entirely know where you are. I've seen gameplay in trials and have experienced it myself where people just camp at an optimal spot and wait for the other team to make a move. In a video aztecross made a while back where he encountered aimbot cheaters, he and his team mates camped in the hangars at the spawn point on bannerfall and used emotes/sword to safely check the enemys position. They won (and rightfully so) because they had free knowledge of where the enemy was. Maybe it doesn't sound that annoying...but it is.
