Mmm k. Serious time.
This doesn't work. Guardians are all light. Light and darkness are exact opposites. They cancel each other out. The guardian would die if they tried to use the darkness.

Maya Sundaresh(probably butchered her last name) is free of our reality. She can freely jump to any vex simulation she wants. She doesn't wield light nor dark.

Ah... interesting. Learned new lore. Okay, then what about this. Touch of Malice is a weapon that uses Darkness. In fact it steals our very life for more power. So, we could have a darkness subclass that requires sacrifices to use. Supers costs half your health for a short time or even every enemy kill with a super zaps your health.

Touch of Malice is a good point, but the sacrifice would be too great.

I would gladly use it for only having half health until my death. You could also have some mad evade skills... like Invisible when in the shadows.

Lol! Well, it all depends on what Bungie does. Hell, for all we know they could introduce a new enemy that the Darkness and the Light have to fight... then.... Darkness guardians are born. 3 new subclasses per class based on Darkness.

First of all.. Ha if you think this game has ANY sort of continuity. Second. Bungie decides what's canon. Not you. They could come out tomorrow and say "Look, Rainbow powered guardians with glitter supers" And guess what, that becomes canon. There is nothing in the lore saying that there couldn't be a type of guardian based on Darkness. All we know is light. The darkness could of already create Dark guardians. You and I, and everyone else doesn't know what is out there.
