Guardians use the light to use their subclass abilities, but what if they used the darkness instead? Feel free to share your own ideas of a darkness subclass! :) Hunter [spoiler] Gatherer Double jump: increased hight, increased control, backtrack (the third jump teleports you directly backwards from your current location [a bit more distance than blink would have]) Super: Corrupt Beam (Shoots a beam of dark energy from your hands [has a bit of charge time. Has decent range, and does damage over time, as long as it is hitting an enemy. Over penetrates enemies. Does high damage. You can walk while using it, but not sprint) Perk 1: Deals extra damage over time to enemies after they are hit with the beam. Perk 2: Increases the range of corrupt beam Perk 3: Increases the duration of corrupt beam Grenades: Spike Grenade Scatter Grenade Tether Grenade (A small range tether that tethers up to 3 enemies, slows them significantly, but does not grant any damage boost to those enemies, or shut down any supers, grenades or melees) Melee: Discharge Knife (lowers the armor, agility, and recovery of the target. [because ads don't regain hp it lowers the amount of hp knights and hobgoblins gain after shielding, and lowers shield recover on shielded opponents instead of recovery in pve] Perk 1: causes small damage over time for a short amount of time Perk 2: hits prevents targets from using guns for a short amount of time Perk 3: increases the effectiveness of discharge knife [/spoiler] Titan [spoiler] Light Eater Lift: Increased control, Increased hight, Dark-burst (jumping mid-lift creates a burst of energy that shoots you directly upwards a far distance [2 1/2 twilight garrisons]) Super: Dark Aura (Creates a large field of dark energy that will quickly kill any opponent standing in it. Damage over time effect. Greatly increases armor, greatly reduces agility) Perk 1: Cannot be damaged while dark aura is active Perk 2: Activation of Dark Aura causes a massive explosion, dealing high damage in the effected range of dark aura Perk 3: Activation of dark aura while fallen teammates are in range will revive them Grenades: tether grenade (see hunter for info), vortex grenade, cold-snap grenade (detonates as soon as it comes into contact with a target or surface. Small area of effect. freezes the enemy in place for a short time. Can freeze multiple targets, as long as they are in range) Melee: Cold-snap (freezes the target in place for a shot time) Perk 1: extends the time that the target is frozen for Perk 2: surrounding enemies upon activation of cold-snap are slowed Perk 3: cold-snap can chain freeze up to one other target [/spoiler] Warlock [spoiler] Detonator Glide: Increased hight, Increased Control, Teleport (while gliding, a red area will appear in the center of the screen. Pressing the jump button again will teleport you to that location) Super: Dark Detonation (KABOOM!! Creates a massive, high blast radius explosion. You die in the process) Perk 1: Increases the blast size Perk 2: Creates a second (not as big) detonation (that will not kill you) in the place of the first detonation after 7 seconds. Perk 3: Creates a smaller votex where detonation was activated. Grenades: Votex grenade, suppressor grenade, scatter grenade Melee: Leech (Causes damage over time to the target, while restoring your health over time) Perk 1: Grants a shied upon impact. Perk 2: increases the effectiveness of Leech Perk3: Revives you with low health if you die while Leech is active [/spoiler] I'll be making changes over time, so be sure to comment what you would like to be changed!   • I like the idea but not with the Warlocks dying to use their super (no word play intended). Although it sounds good in pvp because you respawn anyway, in a hard mode raid, that would not be good cause you can't respawn.

    • Frost subclasses Hunter [spoiler][/spoiler] Frost crawler Super Summon Spears of pure winter to thrust at the enemy. Grenade Snow hurl: throw a crystal of ice to slow and damage an enemy over time. Melee Winters bite: Create a knife of frost to freeze an enemy into your own shape to confuse enemy's Titan[spoiler][/spoiler] Berg Breaker Super: Avalanche: Smash down onto the ground causing an AOE around you that makes and enemy's take massive damage and freeze in place. Grenade Winters Fury: Toss a chunk of pure cold to freeze and crack and enemy causing chain freezing if the enemy is low enough. Melee Snow Smash: Punch an enemy causeing them to slide backwards and anything in there way with it doing damage over time. Warlock[spoiler][/spoiler] Cold Bringer Super: Blizzard, harness massive amount of cold energy into one massive storm that you send hurtling forward doing massive damage in addition to damage over time Grenade Snow fall: Throw a cloud of frost that snows down on the enemy damaging any in the radius Melee Inner cold: Harness the enemies inner moisture to freeze then from the inside out causeing them to slow and reload slower

        • I really like the Titans dark aura and how it can revive fallen teammates in the area. Also the warlocks super is basically going kamikazi

              • This is pretty sweet. I must say adding this would change the story from stopping he darkness to controlling it's hidden powers.

                I really like this idea for future content. You get to a point in the story where you have to make choice, and you have to choose between the light or embracing the darkness. And it changes your subclasses and you have to go to new social spaces because you're exiled from the tower. And you fight opposing guardians in patrol.

              • Like it but the Titan melee would cause major salt in crucible. Also warlock doesn't need to die during the super. No one would use it. And do tether grenades function as suppression grenades and shit down all abilities as well?

                    Cool idea, but alot of the abilities seem op, it's not so easy to balance things like this and ppl already lose their minds in what we have, but it is interesting concept to have darkness subclasses.

                    I have had similar ideas for new subclasses myself, although not about abilities/perks etc, just the base element. I think we could have a choice between 2 new sub classes. One would be based on Pure Light. With the thinking that the sub classes we have now of solar, void & arc are all derived from pure light, but pure light is the ultimate in light power. The other would be based on Darkness. With the thinking that we could adapt and use some powers of the darkness against it. Pure light I think would be easily implemented into the lore when Destiny 2 comes out. I also think a darkness based sub class could be implemented into the lore as well as we already have weapons made from darkness and guardians who have learned a lot/to much about the darkness etc. Like I said I've not thought about abilities or anything so if anyone has some thoughts on what they could be feel free to share them. Edit - a lot of people saying using darkness wouldn't fit story/lore. Remember, this is a fantasy game, ANYTHING can happen.

                    • Well, I would like it obviously.... in fact a Light and Dark subclass would be welcome. And yes I know the current ones use Light. :) We do have Touch of Malice which is powered by Darkness. Why not more weapons and skills...

                    • Mmm k. Serious time. This doesn't work. Guardians are all light. Light and darkness are exact opposites. They cancel each other out. The guardian would die if they tried to use the darkness.

                      • I think that if something like this was implemented, that it should be limited to players who have spent [i][b]x[/b][/i] amount of time using their void subclass, and have been touched by the darkness. It is already known that gazing into the void causes madness in many guardians, so why not expand on that and tell us exactly what is causing the madness.

                            • Historically Guardians don't really do well with Darkness. Not for long periods of time anyway.
