Except with tonics , you have to farm mats like enriching nuggets and enriching flakes , for a limited consumable that lasts an hour Alot worse than just selecting a weapon , and it remaining attuned till you change it

Worse yes, bad no. If you're playing enough to farm for loot, you're playing enough to make the tonics you need. The materials are very easy to get. It's also seasonal content, if we just got attunement like ITL, there would be an equal amount of people complaining over the season having no flavor or being too shallow.

Exactly. They could've just gone with the same attunement system but they came out with this rng abomination at the same time they removed crafting. Why? To pad-out more recycled content and keep us mind-numingly grinding the same content until the end of time.
