As somebody who is somewhat lapsed, but also is working more, I absolutely cannot justify the time spent in Onslaught Salvation vs Into the Light Onslaught. Having all of the season's loot be tied into Onslaught is an alright idea, but with the size of the loot pool + perk pool vastly dilutes your time spent.
With Into the Light, you could attune your weapon and gain tokens to get more drops, which meant that grinding it out felt rewarding and like you were always moving in potentially the correct direction to the thing you want.
With Onslaught Salvation, during a period where I have less gaming time due to work+more games I want to play, spending an hour of an activity that is frankly dull for 60% of the time until the difficulty kicks up (non-expert), for a pittance of drops that is rare it will be what I want and even rarer it has a perk I want, feels like a complete waste of time as I am not working towards a damn thing to improve my overall experience in a loot chasing game.
In the future, ideas such as this should also retain the ability to help us hone in on what we want as well as offer tertiary drops to supplement them. Tonics do not fill that role, and the descriptions of what they drop are so beyond vague that I don't even know what they all do. I want a new roll of Liturgy, not a Chroma Rush or "Vintage Onslaught Weapon" that also isn't even part of the BRAVE arsenal I think?

Attunement in onslaught would be a cool addition. Its starting to sink in how there could be something that you want that might not be the most valued item that over time magically somehow randomly gets weighted over time so that almost everyone gets it and because of that you don't end up getting it.

1 Rispondi
I want a new roll of Liturgy, not a Chroma Rush or "Vintage Onslaught Weapon" that also isn't even part of the BRAVE arsenal I think?
“Vintage Onslaught Weapons” does not refer to BRAVE weapons earned from Onslaught during Into the Light (those weapons can still be obtained through the original Onslaught Activity and can be focused for at Zavala). It instead refers to weapons from a previous Season (specifically Splicer weapons) that can be earned while playing Revenant Onslaught. And as pointed out already, Tonics are intended to be used in place of Focusing and have the added benefit of granting drops in addition to whatever you would normally get rather than in place of those items.
