Interesting. I've never done a raid before, but I'd imagine a matchmaking system wouldn't hurt

Matchmaking really wouldn't work due to the fact a majority of people are just stupid
-
People here think if you've never raided, you must be mentally ill or something. I don't get the logic.
-
I know right
Interesting. I've never done a raid before, but I'd imagine a matchmaking system wouldn't hurt
You have never done a raid before. You answered your own assumption.

It could hurt very bad. Let me give you an example: you matchmake into a new strike, but this strike has a new mechanic. Once you do enough damage to the boss, It separates you from your team mates during the boss fight. You now have to call out 1 of 4 possible symbols that your teammates. They have to shoot that symbol to restart the damage phase. You have no mics, and if they don’t shoot the right symbol in 10 seconds you die and restart the fight. How do you do it? Because that’s a simplified version of 1 of the 7 raids bosses. And every raid works entirely differently.

You know fireteams of deaf people have completed the raids right? Text chat is only marginally slower than voice. Quicker in some cases, with the way some people mumble and um and uh and stutter.

Modificato da Seth, Knower of Things: 9/16/2020 2:38:25 AMOn console? Would love to see it because there’s absolutely no way I can write in Xbox text chat fast enough to get my callout made, shoot the right psions, and get ready to do it all again. I don’t doubt that a team with 3-4 deaf people could do it, or if they were on PC, but an entire team of deaf players on console? X for doubt

Phone with a chat app next to you.
-
So put controller down, pick up phone, type out callout, hope it sends quickly (because my phone sure as shit doesn’t, even on discord) and pick the controller back up to shoot your psions? In 10 seconds? Again, it might work for half the team, but I don’t see it working with a full team of deaf players.
-
Have you ever seen a deaf person type? Easily do that in under 10 seconds.

Ironically, optional matchmaking for all activities including raids effects absolutely nobody that chooses not to use it🤷🏼♂️
-
Divides the populations up. The hardcore will lfg while the casuals try (and likely fail) to start a matchmade game. But if you can solve the problem of how to communicate with your teammates that I gave, I’m all ears.

Guided games was a great success

Raids have some weird ass mechanics that randoms would never be able to do.
-
Raid matchmaking is single handedly the worst thing you could do.
