Any facts to counter what I said or are you just going to name-call?
And I don’t “defend Bungie at every turn”.
Some of you do t seem to understand or accept that there are very real technological limitations to what these 7 year old consoles ( that were underpowered when they debuted back in 2013) can do.
You cant wish away these limits. And you can’t complain them away.
Those machines make up the bulk of the market for this game, and Bungie can’t abandon them. At least until most people upgrade to PS5/XB-SX.
This tribal war that Gen Y and Z gamers feel compelled to wage against corporations is pointless...and unproductive.
Yes some corporations are bad actors and are too powerful (cough, EA). But most aren’t.
...and the ones who are it’s because of the lack of principles of the people who run them.

Any facts to counter what you said? The fact that there are other developers that are better than Bungie? Alright lets see here... FacePunch ( Rust ) Mojang ( Minecraft ) CDPR ( Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077 this year ) Rockstar Games and the GTA series and that is just to name a few. Hell even the older CoDs respected players time back in the day ( Black ops 1 and 2 ) because they didn't just take content that you paid for ( like weapon skins and maps ) and said " Hey you paid for this? Well guess what F you we're taking what you paid for away and there isn't anything you can do about it " There is a reason why people adore companies like CDPR for example, its because they are consumer friendly, Bungo is the opposite, anti consumer. At least a company like CDPR actually LISTENS to its PLAYERS and THEIR FEEDBACK unlike Bungo. There is nothing more to be proven. Just accept the Loss and move on.

1. Opinion. 2. You aren’t comparing apples to apples. Facts: None of those games are online, multiplayer shooters that need to use p2p networking. Nor do any of the run in the same engine that Bungie uses for Destiny. Which means that Destiny requires that your console has to load into its memory any in-game objects you’ll likely encounter (it’s why load times are so long). It also means that the underpowered CPUs of these same consoles have to reserve capacity to run the network connections between all the members of a lobby. If you want to see the consequences of unrestricted game growth. Just go play a round of Gambit, and watch what happens when too many objects are on screen. You frame rate drops. Rubberbanding. Teleporting, and de-syncing. As the consoles can’t keep up with the demands the game puts on them as they start to bottleneck. Without some effort to control the size of the game and the stress it puts on these dated consoles...you’ll eventually reach a point where they can’t run the game anymore and it crashes.

And the multiplayer games use dedicated servers to run the game. Destiny doesn’t.

Want to stop playing the game for five years while Bungie does that? Updating an existing engine and creating the networking to make Destiny 1 possible took two years. Then add another 2-3 years for a new game’s development..... Halo: Infinte took that path. Halo 5 was released in 2015.

This isn't some issue that blindsided them, they have a team working now on a dlc set to be released in 2022 and the have separate teams that work on different things and it's not like they have to start from scratch. These 3 new dlc could just as easily been a separate game.

Yep. ...and those physical, technological, financial and human resources can't be used anywhere else now that they've been committed to those DLCs. At a company that is already supporting one live service game.....maintaining another one (D1) that isn't generating any revenue... ...and you want them to create a new engine and a new game while doing all this. That is not a reasonable ask. 1. Their inability to do that is probably what motivated the split from Activision. Because the only way they could do all that....and get a new game out...was to use the old engine and dev tools. 2. Smith has made it clear that (in order to create the kind of Destiny 3 that THEY would want to make) they would have to STOP supporting Destiny 2. ...and THEN you'd be looking at what is probably a 5 year development cycle before that new game hit the shelves if you want a new engine and dedicated servers.

Actually I would bet that D1 generates some revenue via sales ( for those people that want to go back and experience a better Destiny experience ) and Eververse, because guess what? We still got that in D1.

That's Bungie's fault they were the ones that wanted to keep supporting this game on and on. I would of been perfectly fine with a D3 but hey here we are. If you ask me they should discontinue supporting PS4 and Xbox one. But hey that's just my opinion. End of Conversation.

You know, for a 30+ year old, you're definitely not an open minded person or at the very least you're not showing to be one. You seem to have this stubborn mindset that Bungo can't do wrong and that they'll eventually prevail and what not. That's quite sad man, I really hope you quit being stubborn and actually start accepting the reality that Bungo is not the same company that we fell in love, that I fell in love with back in the Halo days, and back in the D1 days, and although D1 wasn't perfect and I ain't trying to romanticize it in any way, at the same time, I'd rather take D1 than D2 - Ideally I'd take D1 with some parts from D2 but hey.. details. Moreover, for someone that seems to be obsessed with facts you seem to forget or not know ( at the very least ) the fact that Bungie has time and time again been proven to be complete and utter hypocrites and liars. If that's not concerning than I don't know what is.

No one was or attempting to attack you whatsoever. You just feel that way. Want to know why? Because you're losing that disagreement that you have been talking about for quite some time now. I wonder why? Maybe because you're so insecure about losing it that you're stating that in your eyes the other person ( in this case me ) is losing the disagreement to make yourself feel better and on top? Hmm..
