People who cite new Expansion weapons as a justification for sunsetting
You do realize Beyond Light will not have 500 new weapons, right? Because that's literally about how many are being sunset, including entire archetypes of some weapons. 85% of all weapons in the game. How many weapons did Shadowkeep add? A few dozen?

Ahhh yes the 500 weapons that players constantly use. My only problem is there will only be a few bows I can use.

Mmmmmmm. I’m not sure 500 weapons was a correct number. Sunsetting anything really is just apart of a online mmo bro. You play, have some fun, outgrow it, it gets taken away for a bit, you focus on new stuff, have fun with it, and so on and so on. That’s how a mmo works

I was hoping this season would be the one to give us an abundance of new weapons. There is a lot of weapons to replace and I have 0 faith that they will do it all in one expansion. I agree with sunsetting but the way they are doing it is bad. We will probably have periods where bungie just randomly decides to give us nothing worth using and we will have to use stuff that sucks because it doesn’t have a power cap.

You don’t want to play a loot game. You seem to want to play a crafting game, where the devs can let you keep everything. This game self-destructs if the devs try that. Which is what Bungie realized and finally had to admit.

The whole point of having a weapon collection is that you CAN use them in relevant content, IF you want. Not that people use ALL their weapons ALL the time. You don't watch all the movies in your blu-ray collection EVERY day, do you? So would it be OK if I threw the discs in the trash and just left you with the cases?

See my personal favorite excuse is the "the game is unbalanced man, gotta take all that out!" Mt isnt going anywhere, gnawing hunger is being reintroduced as soon as new light happens. Nothing will change. Why sunset then? "Oh the game is bloated!" Yes, it is, but that's bungie's fault, so why should I be punished? Why should my weapons be taken because of their terrible design? "The weapons arnt being taken, you can use them in patrol!" Okay sure, but that's once again proving the point of why sunset in the first place. Not only that, but if I told you that I'd take your car in 3 months and youd have to buy a new one, you wouldn't be happy either. It's a major killer of motivation to get a gun, why should I when it wont matter in 3 months? I remember a time when bungie said they never wanted our weapons to become irrelevant. What about that now bungie? This game has turned from a passion project to a money sink real fast. If you like it, good for you, keep playing. As for me, it's pretty damn hard to see a game I've loved since 2014 turn into this.

Seriously..... At least a Majority of those only have 1 perk.... There pretty much Blue weapons. They Suck. Remove them.

No one actually switches out between 500 weapons on the regular either. Everyone knows, whether they want to admit it or not, has a vault full of gear they *intended* to use, but never did, so it's sitting there at 750.

But it will add enough weapons that we'll have decent options to choose from. Not only this, but legendary weapons and below are the only things sunsetting will have an effect on, so exotics of all kinds are still fair game. Besides, if you're so hooked on your specific legendaries that sunsetting bothers you, or if you put so much of your life into this game that "but they're undoing our hard work!" is an argument you put stock in, then you REALLY need to get out more and have a life outside of Destiny. EDIT: I would also like to add that you say "a few dozen" like it's a small amount. Bare minimum for "a few" is 3, let's say for sake of argument that the max is 5. One dozen is 12. Assuming the lowest possible amount with those numbers, we're talking 36 new weapons. 36 new weapons is enough for 4 new shotguns, 4 new ARs, 4 new grenade launchers, 4 new hand cannons, 4 new sidearms, 4 new rocket launchers, 4 new swords, 4 new fusion rifles, AND 4 new machine guns. But here's the thing, bungie RARELY does anything that evenly. So we're looking at something closer to this: 7 new ARs (8 if no new MGs), 1 new machine gun (if any), 2 new grenade launchers, 5 new rocket launchers, 3 new swords, 2 new fusion rifles, 6 new shotguns, 6 new sidearms, 6 new hand cannons. Obviously that's not going to be accurate to what they do but it's more likely than 4 of each weapon type. Now, let's assume the highest amount. That's SIXTY new guns. Nearly double the amount. This would give the opportunity for a much more balanced spread of weapons. So don't say "a few dozen" like it's a small number. Compared to 500, it is. But here's the thing: those 36-60 new weapons will be viable for at least a year. And in that time, Bungie will be adding more and more and more weapons as they go with each new season. "A few dozen" will be hundreds before this time next year.

2 RisposteYou used 500 weapons? Y'all only used MT for special and Recluse for primary for year now in PvE, with couple other things in Nightfalls. Beloved, Revoker, Mindbender, Waking Vigil and Spare in PvP. Don't lie to me.

Do you use 500 weapons? The top 20 most used weapons make up more than 95% of all used weapons.

We don't need 500 odd weapons though. We just don't, most of the current loot gets sharded and you know it.

1 RispondiOh no 500 weapons are getting retired, 450 that were scharded as soon as most people got them. On a positive note after 10,000,000 posts about sunsetting, it's still happening in 2 1/2 months
