If you've switched to Gjallarhorn there's no point in sniping.
Plus, like I say, you can keep 3 of each weapon type (30 guns) plus the 27 exotics, and still have 59 open weapon slots available.

And also, I snipe and gjallarhorn all the time. Archon priest is a perfect example. Unload all the rockets and stun lock him until he drops. Sepiks prime too. You can't beat either with 14 rockets. I do it every single strike.

I'm not trying to be a dick here, but your medal score shows me that you don't play PvP much, if at all. The reason for 90% of my weapon hoarding has to do with PvP. If I didn't play PvP, then you are absolutely right. Stick with elemental burns and one of each weapon type and you're fine. In PvP, that's not the case. I might want a rocket with clown cartridge and horseshoes, and I might want one with tripod and horseshoes. The perk layout is a much more important element than elemental damage. I've got three efriedeets spears with different scope and perk configurations because I will use a different one on each map. Same with shotguns.

Nope, I find PVP incredibly boring. Until there's a game mode that doesn't consist of variations on "Deathmatch" and "Team Deathmatch" then I'm out.

Well that's the reason for the hoarding. Pretty much the only reason. If you don't play PvP, you can't speak advice about weapon usage outside of PvE, so your recommendations are mainly useless.

Not really... Look at the latest stats on the last weekly update. https://www.bungie.net/pubassets/41117/pvp_stats.jpg If you aren't using Thorn, The Last Word or Red Death then, well, you're being dominated by people using Thorn, The Last Word or Red Death.

Yeah we know. And with the patch coming out, those three won't be as good, hence the need to hoard. If you dismantled any ARs, too bad since those are getting a buff in the patch. That's my point, don't dismantle because you never know what Bungie is going to change.
