I was good at Crucible ever since Beta and still am good now. I took a two week break and my friend invited me for Trials yesterday and still carried when j was still rusty. No matter how much rust I accumulate, I'll still be good.
The secret really is have tons shooter experience in your belt. I don't think about what I do in the game, I act purely on instinct. So every time I pull a clutch of 1v3 in Trials my friends are like "How to hell do you do these!?"
I just don't know, I just do. Primal instinct.

I was like that back when I was a little younger playing BC2 and BF3, a lot of it was instinct, pulling off these wild kill streaks and such. Destiny is a very different game though, I have to take new angles of attack into account that I'd never have considered in the more traditional military FPS games I'm used to playing.

For me, I used to play a lot of Halo, and I assume that my skills from there just transferred seamlessly over, but yeah. There are times where I do need to do things different.

Ah, yeah, I was terrible at Halo lol. It takes an entirely different mindset I think to play. I have noticed I don't use my melee enough, like I forget about it while running around and trying not to die.

Yeah, melee is a big part, except in this game, usually you'll get shotgunned in the face unlike Halo. However yeah, melee does help a lot, especially if you catch them off guard. To be honest, Halo is a run and gun game. So I treat it like one in Destiny. I just run in and gun enemies down and jump... A lot. Unless it's into a corridor or room, then I play a little strategic by strafe looking into the door, waiting for the enemy to stick their head out. Grenades are also a huge part.
