There's a difference between surviving and contributing. As long as you're not kicked, the rest of your team should be able to carry you though. I've raided with loads of 31's. Here's what you can expect based on my experience. You'll no doubt die early during the Abyss section. Level 33 thralls shred 31's. You'll no doubt die during the bridge section if you run it legit. A lot of enemies here will 1-hit you. If you can't self-res or make it to the despawn spot, you'll need to die so the rest of your team can cheese it. You'll no doubt die if you try to contribute in the thrall hallway. The shrieker blast easily downs 32's, as a 31 you'll die even quicker. You'll no doubt die during the Deathsinger section if you attempt to do anything other than hide. You [i]should[/i] be fine during the Crota fight since you're rarely in any danger, but if you do happen to get hit by a boomer, you're as good as dead. If you're fine with being a burden, by all means look for a team. Just don't be surprised if you struggle to find one.
