Can a 31 Survive HM Crota?
Here's my predicament:
I want to get to 32 as fast as I can. I've got the gear I need, but it seems that every Crota run I complete, I only get enough shards to level one defensive upgrade for one piece of gear. So, I think I'm debating on trying to get into a Hard Mode group (which will probably be harder than HM itself).
Do you think I have a chance?

I ended up joining a Fireteam, and made it past the Deathsinger (until our Fireteam leader and his friends left). Needless to say, I had plenty of deaths. Especially the Bridge and Ir Yut.
Guess there is always tomorrow to finish Crota himself.

I have done at it lvl 30 and had no problem. Didnt need to hide for crota. Just have to play smart.

I did my first time on HM. The best part is that is the only time I finished CE on HM.

I did it the other day as the swordbearer with 2 Lvl 30's, one level 31, and 2 other 32's. Not a single wipe

Hardest part is not having health regen. Level doesn't really matter.

Absolutely, I started a new hunter (deleted a warlock) about a month ago, with no gear, but I smashed it out to at least lvl 30 and had a few mates carry me through CE hard, and I got all my gear in one run. I was very lucky. However I wasn't dying as often as I though I would, and when it can to Crota, I was on boomer duty, behind the rock, which worked well. So as a level 31, you should be fine to complete CE hard, as long as your team is good enough

Have yet to beat crota with a full team of 32's hahah always do it with 31s and 30s to help them get gear anyone who me tells yiu yiu need to be 32 or have gally or Hunger can piss off

31's have to be more conscious of their health and enemies. Most 32's have healing on orbs perks. They also can take more damage. So your job as a 31 is to stay hidden and not get shot in crystal room, be the first or second out of the crystal room, and basically don't take damage in general. Also maxed out guns go along way to make others in the raid team feel like they will not have to carry you.

The thing that matters most is having a 32 sword person so that way you can get Crota killed as fast as possible. Specially do middle strategy you could literally have the other 5 guys be 31 firing two rockets apiece and Crota would go down. Being 31 in hard mode doesn't really limit your team unless everyone is 31 then Crota will be a long hard grinding fight. Hope this helps to answer your question oh and have tracking rockets. Many groups will help lower levels through to Crota then at Crota give up after a few wipes. At least you have the check point then can look for a team with good rocket launchers and find a sword bearer. Not that hard on lfg really there are posts left and right for hard mode Crota all the time

Everything is a cheese when you use lfg stuff anyway. You could get up to crota as a 20 if the game let you.

I've done hard as a lvl 30/31/32 and yes there is a major difference and a 30 you will die easily and be almost useless but I survived the abyss. Did the bridge and helped in it yut. Specials and generating orbs helps a lot, and depending on class/build you can help in these scenarios like my Titan with a bubble or hulk smashing through the abyss

Yes it can be done as long as you learn the run. It's not hard just glitchy. I do hope they fix the glitches soon.

My clan can 5 man hm so I don't see why a 31 couldn't do it with a full group first team to down it had 2 31s in their group
