Judging by your profile that says you're on Playstation, and since you're asking about next gen I'm assuming you're on Ps3.
I wouldn't get a completely new console for only one game. Especially not a shooter. Look at the FUTURE lineup for each console
PS4 has:
No Man's Sky
Horizon: Zero Dawn
Uncharted 4
The Last Guardian
Ratchet and Clank
X1 has:
Scalebound
Quantum Break
Cuphead
Elite: Dangerous
Crackdown 3
IF you like shooters, get the Xbox. There's PLENTY of shooters there...

I'll be honest none of the shooters coming up excite me that aren't platform neutral like CoD or battlefront the only game that isn't platform neutral I ever enjoyed was halo I loved back in the day but with halo 4 I stopped playing wasn't as much fun but I heard halo 5 was closer to its arena shooter roots
