Can you think of a game that ever disappointed you more than Destiny has with its freemium/RNG bullshit loot, lack of content, repetitiveness/grindfest, inexcusable bugs, and laughable story?
I can't. I've put a lot of time in, because it was still fun early on to play with friends. But now almost all of us despise this game. And with what's planned for the future, nothing looks like it's going to change.
We all had sky high hopes, bought in to the hype, but this game is pretty terrible. Pretty and controls well, but it's a bad bad game.
Anything else close to this disappointing for you?
EDIT: People love to cite my play time as some kind of argument that the game can't be that disappointing. Here is an answer to that:
Did I have a lot of fun?
Yes - in the beginning. Early progression and playing with friends was fun for a while. The loot slot machine had me addicted as well.
Did I feel my money was well spent?
I'm conflicted here. Clearly I put a lot of time in, so there is some value in that. But I feel like the money I spent sent a very wrong message to Bungievision - that what they did was OK and people will buy anything. That worries me.
Did you put in more hours then most games?
Yes I did.
When new content arrives will I play?
NO WAY IN HELL. I preordered the expansion pass, so I will check out the new raid in HoW. But after that I won't spend another dime on this game unless massive fundamental changes are made.
There's no doubt the universe they created is very compelling, but the execution so far has been so piss poor that I refuse to encourage more of the same by giving them any more money, UNLESS things change in a big way.

Dude, you have like 450+ hours in this game. Find me any form of entertainment that gives you 450 hours of enjoyment for 60 bucks. And if you put that much time into something you didn't enjoy you're an idiot, and that sounds like a personal problem.
-
No I'm not. Simply because I had no expectations. I saw the gameplay l, pre ordered it, played the beta and enjoyed it. Yes it's not perfect, however I enjoy my time in the game
-
if they left TDB and HoW in the game instead of making them dlc i think the game would be fine for a first game (out of 4)
-
Nah, still playing. Almost 1900 hours in now, just passed Cryptarch lvl 100 on my main alone and still not bored. I even tried to pick up Far Cry 4 and Shadow Of Mordor only to put them down an hour later and get back on Destiny. I have never played a better, more addictive game in my life. I love this game, there's just so much to do. Working on getting all faction shaders and ships now, its a trip.

Agree. Not worst, but most disappointing.

M-O-D-E-R-A-T-I-O-N Too much of a good thing is not always a good thing. RNG and the upgrading / Light system are the carrot at the end of the stick to give players incentive to continue playing after they have played through the general content. Content is added on a regular basis as most any other MMO style game. When I find I have something I want to spend time on in Destiny I do so. When I run out of those things I do something else (different game or just plain something different). Moderation is the trick. I love the play aspect of the game and the fun factor. More content when it is added is a nice bonus.
-
I can't complain RNG has been good to me the past two weeks. I've been rolling in raid gear, exotics, legendary engrams, raid weapons, etc. If your not a fan of the game anymore, just move on to something else.

Aliens colonial marines Duke nukem forever
-
I used to have 30ish friends online playing destiny, now I barely get 10 max. Everyone's moving on to other games :(

Cough* aliens: colonial marines *cough*

Dragon Age is that for me

We expected a lot of things in this game, yes it was overhyped but the fact that this game is only made for new gen console... Yes i know it came out for the ps3 and xbox360 but the fact remains... Any new games out there for the new console doesn't have things that destiny has... Anyways lemme point out... The Good... •smooth gameplay •online only connectivity •fresh environment •raids •subclasses •and the hype of doing something new in a new gen console The Bad... •re-skins •replayability •story •weapons and gears •story •unbalanced pvp •walled open world •real time environment? Im not sure if it exist •trading system? •loot system, its entirely focused on the player that stayed for more than 4-6 hrs to get good drops, and its broken •xur's easy exotic earn •raid bugs and glitches •pvp bugs and glitches •glimmer cap •vault space •the amount of npc that exist •who the hell is the traveler? Everyone forgot about him huh!!! Lol •quest that continues a game or making weapons or gear •weapon and gear leveling system is a grind •glimmer is a grind •materials have no purpose except to accumulate •what the hell is the town below the tower??? •i wish i can go down there... •your brand new raid/dlc spaceship is only a dynamic load out and a destiny xmb menu... •the unknown location of the "7th chest in vog" •crota was just another bullet sponge •online connectivity needs more work •we have a zoo name for errors •maybe we can get god weapons of some sort like paying for it or acquiring them through trials of osiris... •what happen to the queen... Well thats all i can think about while doing number 2... Lol

I must admit, I've just recently become VERY bored of this game. I've already skipped 2 weeks of the weekly raids and nightfalls. I honestly don't care for it anymore.
-
yep. its called crisis 2 I have burned, cut, frozen and smashed that piece of crap disc. so buggy that missions where impossible, enemies constantly respawned 24/7 in an endless flow and oh my character couldn't regen hp(believe its supposed too). destiny is actually pretty fun
-
It's not a bad game but the constant grinding can be fun if you play with friends
-
I beat starfox64 in about an hour and a half. I don't know if you are old enough to remember how awesome game informer made that one sound, but I was disappointed. I hope no game gives me that exact feeling...

Edited by DjNormal: 2/5/2015 6:38:08 AMSpelunker on the NES. I was so disappointed in that game I wanted to call Nintendo and tell them to take their "seal of quality" off of that horrible game. Edit: I just googled that awful game and even IGN rated it 2.5/10 "Painful." http://m.ign.com/articles/2008/03/24/spelunker-review Edit 2: Yes, I played the original version on my NES console. Fortunately I'd rented it, and damn it I want my $2 back!

I find myself forcing myself to play. The potential is so great i keep hoping they will do somthing about it. but that would require them to remake the whole game almost.
-
Destiny and Warhammer Online are two titles that should have never been allowed to go live.
-
Most disappointing game ever yet your on the forums still posting away.
-
If I had all warlocks id be dissapointed too

Vanilla diablo Any who I feel the same. I really want this to pull forward with some depth and content. But knowing the amount given for the next exp pack, as well as Destiny 2, I'm assuming what we have now is what we'll have for the rest of this franchise.
-
The Ace Attorney games. Barely even call them games. Buggy as heck too.

Why are you posting this now 6 months since the game's release and after the first dlc
