The very basic element of Christianity is forgiveness. You can restart any time.

Somehow I don't think its that simple. Then all anyone would have to do is repent on their deathbed and then all is good. By that logic all Hitler had to do was ask forgiveness and off to heaven he went. I think that you have to invest a little bit more than just asking forgiveness at the 11th hour.

Which Bible? And interpreted by whom? Those are two questions are what caused how many sects of Christianity? Your sect is maybe OK with an 1th hour conversion. Most are not.
