Every religion has basic tenets that its practitioners have to live by. Arguably, if those practitioners actually lived by those rules, the world would be a better place. Given that the two largest religions have some pretty big consequences for not abiding by the central tenets of faith (i.e.: Hell) its would be safe to say that most people who claim to be of one religion or another do not believe there is such a punishment. If they don't believe in the punishment, do they believe in the reward?
I would say that most people don't actually believe in Deities or an afterlife, and that they are actually atheistic in nature. They just don't think about the issue enough to say they are one way or another.
Thoughts?

I try to believe in god, but then you see awful things happen and innocent people being killed. And I'm wondering why I'm the lucky one, everyone else is just deserving as I am. I don't know what to think sometimes.

Ha No.

True, though only one religion that I know of makes concessions for the stupidity of humans, and that's Christianity, they have this awesome thing called grace.

7 RepliesThe very basic element of Christianity is forgiveness. You can restart any time.

Well, that's you're belief, an opinion. I hope people realize th...to late.

Religion is highly subjective to all people, it is only natural that they would treat it more like a physiological support, and less of rigorous rules.

1 ReplyCharlie actually brings up a good point. Will the Flood ever grow up and discuss it without shrieking into the air that Charlie made another troll thread? No.

2 RepliesMehh... One of the main things in mostly every religion is that your actions can be forgiven, so there is room for people to screw up. It seems like you are grasping at straws here. Although I will say, the idea of religion is ridiculous, because people tend to only take what suits them from religion and not the entire picture.
