Might as well just take away guns in Crucible. It's 80% ability spam

I used to enjoy pvp.

      Onslaughteristically Inclined (Zzzur) - old

      After running a bunch of normal control games I have to honestly say its a mixed bag. Some games excellent gunplay with limited ability usage and that ~timezone.. when supers inevitably stop some gunplay.. and thats fine.. if its a balanced match no worries. Then other times its ability spam-fest extravaganza with stacks supplementing/synergizing builds (even duos if not trips).... I'm not sure guns are even used sometimes.. most recently frozen by titans.. clones and nades (slightly better than before true).. and the new supers are just annoying as.. I'm shooting this roaming super... its gotta put um down.. if I shoot stuff in your game its gotta do something. Again its mixed sometimes.. maybe even more than 50% mostly gunplay with limited abilities (awesome).. but thats down to the players.... down to the random luck of your lobby.. if players want to spam they can and I think Bungie is supposed to control that.. and control those stacks. [b][u]Abilities[/u][/b] Mayhem = High = chaos Normal = Medium = balance Hardware/Checkmate = low/none = ultimate in gunplay (no magic.. no heavy spam either)

    • Exactly… Ability spam is not space magic (or skill). Abilities should be strong (or even very strong) but not as frequent. Gunplay should be the focal point.

      • Facts will never support your title. Random match picked. 8 kills autorifle. 3 kills machine gun. 4 kills sidearm. 1 kill super 2 kills melee. That is three kills that could be considered abilities though I am sure neither of those melee kills were in any way associated with an ability powered melee (titan). But hey lets call all three of those kills ability that leaves it 3 ability to 15 weapons. I believe if you actually checked numbers instead of the feels you would find this is actually the facts of crucible. You didn't actually die to that smoke....that specter....that swarm grenade.... Those things just upset you.

          Isn’t there a mode with no abilities? Hardware I believe. Not sure if it’s up to play. If it isn’t they should make it a permanent mode for those who like gun play.

          • Bungie needs to stop with the favoritism and hammer down hunters they are the only class people play in crucible in trials I would be the only warlock and in 6v6 the whole other team would be hunters while I get titans and warlocks which are not good in pvp anymore

                • Did you not play the first game? 1 kit kill grenades on a 25s cool down. You'll wait 5x that amount of time for a d2 grenade [i]and[/i] it moves slower and does fraction of damage compared to d1 version. Even after a decade people are confused as to what this game is or should be.

                  • This isnt cod, the ability cooldowns take 1000 years in comparison to D1. And surprise surprise, none of you who are complaining ever played D1. Stop hopping into pre-existing titles, and expecting -blam!- to get catered to you. You're playing space magic the video game, and crying about the space magic.....

                    • Maybe learn how to play the game? Or go play a game like counter strike that doesn't have abilities. Last time I played halo infinite or COD it was players just spamming grenades and equipment which is basically just what "abilities" are in destiny. Nothing is stopping you from investing into stats that aren't resilience or recovery.

                          Play as a hunter. Its class says something about being good with guns... while the only thing they do is spam abilities as if they are bad with weapons

                          They will adjust it. Remember they want prismatic or any new subclass to ship strong, we just have to suffer for now. Every one is fully aware the crucible has leaned toward ability and special weapon spam since TFS. Things should improve about half way through act 2.

                        • Lol goooo hunters ! I think pvp will slowly fade away . Nothing will be done with pvp obviously now . It’s a mess and seems to very predictable now . Usual weapons ….lots of storms edge . But hey is destiny pvp so can’t take it seriously

                          • I once had a glitch happen years ago, back when gear was level restricted, and they increased the max level. The gear equipped on my titan suddenly was too high-level for him to equip, so he was running around without guns. It was a very interesting instance, but was very fun. It was very interesting to see that (back then) there was actually correct animations for a gunless guardian. I think it was close to the Fist of Havoc animations. I went into PvP with it and it was one of the most interesting experiences I've had. I actually didn't do very bad and was really fun since I had to focus on hyper aggressive, yet evasive play.
