That’s not the point of it at all. The reason people are talking like that is because 99.9% of the people in this game that hated Stomp-EE5 ;constantly complained, whined and moaned about it to get a nerf.
While they also defended every other movement based exotic because all the others are balanced in their eyes. We’re just making fun of them because they have no idea just how annoying Hunter’s can truly spec to be in crucible. Looks like I’ll be bringing out my liars handshake with top tree arc next season ;)
I’m calling it now though, almost every single person that complained about Stomp-EE5 is gonna complain about Gemini jesters too.

Edited by inuitmailman: 4/22/2022 2:53:36 PMFor the people who complain about stompees and will inevitably complain about Gemini. Is it possible because both of these exotics make other guardians experience more miserable than ophidians or transverse steps? I was just having this discussion on another post. But hunter jump is why people complain about stompees. Hunter dodge is why people will complain about gemini. Fighting a hunter with a shotgun, sniper or hand cannon is harder than fighting any other class. Their jumps are the hardest to navigate for new and experienced players. I’m not saying they are too difficult to hit, but they are the MOST difficult to hit. For this reason stompees exaggerate that. Likewise a hunter in his dodge is the most difficult class ability to hit. (Titan barricade you can’t hit so that one doesn’t count when facing it, you can also get angles and barricade doesn’t move. The void barricade could get a look at still btw so let’s not get too caught up on void Cade for this discussion) so geminis causes the same anger and hate that stompees did for jump. “Why can someone dodge and get a half baked blinding nade that’s can’t be missed, on a very low cooldown” Enter the hate for hunters. TLDR: hunter exotics make other players FEEL worse.

Each class has their strengths but movement in PvP is crucial especially now that people are playing at higher refresh rates and cross-play is enabled. I do agree that -50 nerf is very harsh but it seems to fall in line with how Bungie has been steadily nerfing and separating abilities and traits in order to force players to have to build hard in order to get back what we had previously or even to focus on just one stat. Intellect has essentially become a dead stat me in crucible except for Mayhem then I have armor set aside that is mostly Intellect and not much else.

When I want to play a tank, I get on my Titan. When I want to be a magical self-healing floating jack of all trades, I get on my Warlock. What the hell is a Hunter without supreme mobility??? Just a guy with a cape.

What the hell is a Hunter without supreme mobility??? Just a guy with a cape.
Bungie did not touch mobility on Stompees, but nerfed the in-air accuracy harder than I thought was fair. If they had touched any point of the actual movement benefits it would probably have killed them completely. They have nerfed every recharge rate, separated super regen times, separated grenade recharge rates, neutered charged with light mods and Warmind mods and created very specific elemental well mods to replace charged with light mods. Now they have decided even to create another new trait which requires building into, which is in-air accuracy. Some people love this type of “build crafting” but I am not one of them. Before armor 2.0 I had multiple builds for all three of my classes and they were all in my inventory. I don’t have the time nor do I care anymore to put sets together because Bungie has been nerfing or gutting things every season. I completely understand the Stompee nerf frustration as when I run my Titan I usually run Peacekeepers or Dunemarchers specifically for the movement buff. I generally run Ophidians or Necrotic Grip on Warlock and Geminis, Frostees, Young Ahamkara’s Spine, Liar’s Handshake, or Lucky Pants. I probably switch up my Hunter exotics more than the other two classes. I play this game less and less and it gets easier and easier to not play because of the lack true content being replaced with limited content and the continued increase in “build crafting”. Spending 10 minutes switching armor, mods, and weapons out of 60 minute play session is a waste of my time and enjoyment. It always worries me when Bungie starts making sweeping changes as they tend to be in preparation for something more severe to come. Sometimes good but when it is bad…it tends to be really bad.

I agree with you on a lot of this. It's getting a bit tedious with the buildcrafting and having to match element types all the time for this or that etc etc. Feel like I'm constantly tinkering with mods. I wouldn't mind it if they simply had a way to switch builds conveniently built into the game like....you know, EVERY game on Earth that requires you to spec different ways for different things.

I feel like Bungie has done fairly well with new gun traits, etc. as they will always have to walk a tight rope on balance but there always seem to be a few outliers that just put everything else to shame. It is just that the most recent bad boy weapons are behind money. Gjally is just a keystroke away from a certain nerf. They have added so many new things that really restrict how players can approach the game play. Outside of PvP, excluding Trials and Iron Banner, the majority of new content added is tied to light level. For some people that is not an issue but everything is just a light level grind now for others. Tie that into slower recharge rates and ability benefits weakened then the game just becomes less thrilling and more work-like. There are still some crazy builds that slay but I have to go watch some streamer just to figure them out.

I must have missed this video. It’s exactly the look I be talking about haha thanks for the link/backup guardian.

Edited by Desolator0: 4/22/2022 11:23:18 PM
TLDR: hunter exotics make other players FEEL worse.
This is all you need to know about Hunter mains. Literally the most crutch and easy PvP class with the most frustrating and no-skill Exotics in the game. Want no-skill aimbot knives? Put on Athrys's Embrace. Bad with a primary because you've crutched your shotgun too much and lose your 1s? Put on Wormcrutch to cheat death and survive things you shouldn't. Want to be an annoying POS and disable everyone's radar with another no-skill crutch Exotic? Put on Gemini's. Hunter Exotics are solely designed to provide huge benefits and frustrate everyone who encounters them with zero skill required from the zero skill PvP class.

I mean my god we had a whole season where Warlocks had one-hit tracking Axion bolt grenades that followed you across the map. It was the most skilless thing ever. And I think even that got less hate than Hunters.

Edited by Desolator0: 4/22/2022 11:23:40 PMThere were never OHK Axions; they did ~168 damage with Chaos Accelerant only (still a near OHK though). Are tracking grenades skillless? Yes, all of them are, but now you're just engaging in more unhelpful whataboutism.

Back to reality, I assume throwing a grenade in a general direction takes less skill than anything Hunter related. Yes?
Try again.
https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/whataboutism-origin-meaning

LOL man you really love coming off like a chump don't you? A few hours ago you got your butt kicked here spewing platitudes about "balance". But when "balance" arguments don't go your way it's whataboutism? How does that work in your head? I can't imagine. You get to point out "imbalances" but when others do it against your favorite "crutch" class, it's "whataboutism". HAHHAHAH!!! You're a special kind of stupid. Yeah besides clearly being biased against Hunters, you were also dropped on your head as a baby.
-
Lol but you didn't disprove anything I said about Hunters either, now did you? Stop being a low IQ bot and going "b-but THEY'RE just as bad!!!!" You have no idea how to talk without resorting to logical fallacies and it makes you look stupid and desperate. Have a bad day.

Enjoy coming here in a few months crying about the next thing you die to constantly lol. Losers like you always do. Not a single thing I said was a logic fallacy or even whataboutism. You sound like a moron who saw those accusations in a Twitter debate and thought it would make you sound smart. You're such a tryhard hahahah.

Since you want to say all of that, what’s your opinion on getting free quickdraw on any and every weapon you want on warlock? Or getting a melee that puts everyone in its radius after the initial hit to one shot? How about the melee they combined with exotic arm pieces both track and poison the target? How about the boots on Titan that reflect bullets, supers, and basically anything when you slide? How about the ability side of it too? Warlocks and Titans got the better end of the stick in Void 3.0 while hunters got a new animation for our dodge and increased invis uptime. Titans got the ability to constantly be overshielded and combine that with certain exotics, it was almost a completely unbeatable and uncounterable ability. Warlocks have both a passive/aggressive ability(very very aggressive tracking ability) and a tracking melee that can quite literally negate almost any roaming super in the game when used correctly. Every class in this game has their annoying builds, stop acting like it’s only hunters that do. Just because a hunter is the most played, doesn’t mean it’s the most broken. It means it’s the easiest for a newer player to pick up and do decent with. Ask any top level player and they will say the same; I’d much rather prefer playing a really good hunter than a warlock or Titan.

Warlocks and Titans got the better end of the stick in Void 3.0 while hunters got a new animation for our dodge and increased invis uptime.
What I say to that, is this. point 1: Ophidian aspects are a PERFECT pvp exotic. Their usage shows this. They do everything you’d want them to. I use them exclusively (A lot of people prefer transverse steps, which oddly I could not find on their graphs? Maybe I’m blind lol, but I couldn’t find renewals either). Now they feel GREAT and perfect like I said. But you rarely get people in the community complaining about them. Why is that? I would like to presume it’s because there is no noticeable difference to the player who is getting attacked by them. Now there are visible things don’t get me wrong, (Melee lunge range is crazy on them) but by and large you can get handling and reload speed with mods or perks. Granted with them you don’t need to mod or perk to get there, hence being exotic. TLDR: So in total I would say ophidians aren’t as egregious as a lot of hunter exotics cuz they don’t FEEL bad to play against. They do feel strong to use and to play against though. Could they use a look at? Yea by the charts numbers yes. Or they could make more pvp exotics for warlocks to compensate. (Was that a TLDR? Lol) point 2: *a quick one Are you for the poison melee ability talking about necrotic grips and the void melee? Or possibly the solar necrotic grips? Well one no longer kills, and the other can with low enough resil. You also have to be in normal melee distance and can be meleed twice to trade with it. So idk man it’s a non starter for me. I use to use this combo with old void melee and it was like… fine? point 3: Check the titan graph for exotics. It’s the most balanced part of all 3 classes. A lot of different ones being used. And this is prolly cuz there isn’t a go to simple one like hunters and warlocks have. They prolly need a ol reliable. I.e. ophidians, wormhusk etc.. For me I haven’t seen reflector boys in the crucible in a BIT. Even when I did the player still has to hit his shots and time it correctly for it to function right. Skill involved, though a strong choice if used right? But still… skill involved. point 4: This one feels like a cop out I ain’t gonna lie. Warlocks, titans, and hunters got buffed in PVE like everyone with void. But in PVP warlocks got no special treatment. Their child is a good zone tool, but ultimately won’t be a deciding factor. Their rifts function no different. Their grenades (axioms) finally got a nerf, and those were the one outlier. Titan OVS is oppressive but it’s really not that much health. Should it feel like theirs more downsides? Yes probably. I’ve found a lot of it might be a health update change. When they put it up it looks like it’s fully replenishes shield, when it’s actually just putting on a small OVS. Now for the copout… saying “all we got was a animation change and invis uptime” is kinda a joke. The super was changed to be better. You can now cast twice and move in between casts. It comes up first which means you’ll never not have a time you can suppress a roaming super. In most ways this means that the only super that there is is this one…(remember the it “feels” bad thing?” And hunter invis has no downside… warlock rift is countered by a nade. So it’s titan barricade. Both of those are immovable abilities. Hunters can continue moving and benefiting from something they used a few seconds ago in a different location. For context the only time I see streamers like wallah or Benny miss shots. Is when it’s on an invis hunter. It’s a GREAT ability. This is now the length of the twab oops. But ya know discussion warrants that? I think?

Typical Hunter whataboutism coping because their no-skill class finally got exposed by Bungie with raw, pure data.

Typical hunter hater, gets shutdown entirely and has no idea how to formulate an actual reply after. You didn’t reply to a single counter point I made to yours, you just chose to instead insult me because I’m a hunter and call it a day. Yet, you wonder why people get annoyed with people like you. You ain’t botherin me none though, I’m just here for some laughs; and you my friend should be a comedian.
