I do agree with you that getting better is a valid response. I believe its all in the delivery though. Let's face it, the term 'git gud' has a certain negativity associated with it. Regardless of whether it is intended or not. Everytime I have read someone saying 'git gud', they never provide any guidance on how! It's left at that. Surely there would be people more than happy to 'get gud' but some of them may be new lights and are likely overwhelmed by everything in the game. You are absolutely right, fun isn't the same thing to every person.
