Most likely? I can't say for sure cause the content hasn't released yet, but I don't see why you couldn't.

Edited by TJ_Dot: 8/22/2020 2:47:30 PMI can see why I couldn't, probably because I'll be capped at underlight, despite it not being endgame. If the moon is anything to go by, the same thing would happen.
-
Capped at underlight? Elaborate? I don't understand what you mean, and I've never been set as a lower light than my gear puts me at. The moon hasn't capped my light. If it has, then I haven't noticed it.
-
750 on the moon was dangerous same would apply to 1060 on Europa 1060 is a cap
-
Dangerous isn't impossible. What's wrong with a challenge? If it's hard to the point of not being fun when you run your old gear, then just use the new gear they provide.
-
It's not reasonable, it's patrol...not endgame Also lost sectors would literally be impossible
-
It is reasonable, because for every one thing you can't use safely, there will be something else that can be used safely. Your ONLY complaint is that you can't use the same tired old gear you've always used. Get over it and use something new or leave. There's nothing wrong with sunsetting.
-
That doesn't explain why it's reasonable. You said old stuff isn't viable in endgame, and I've proven this to be false. That tired old gear is the same gear that would be available at a higher light anyway, nothings different. armor is just armor, guns are copies of each other. So there's really no point in being forced to switch. Telling people to leave doesn't help the game bub. Something is wrong, you're just in denial.
-
It's reasonable because there's nothing wrong with using new gear. As for "I've proven this to be false"... how? Sunsetting caps everything. When endgame content reaches a power level too high for old content to keep up with, they won't be viable anymore. That's just a fact. And honestly if half this community would just leave, maybe the other half could actually enjoy the game depending on which half left.
-
What was unreasonable was playing at a handicap for something so insignificant. That's where I was going with that. Patrol isn't endgame, is it? A fact, but an irrelevant one to what was said That makes absolutely no sense, a pyrrhic victory at best. You can also just not interact with the community if it bothers you so much from enjoying the hamster-wheel simulator
-
If I don't pvp, most of my enjoyment of this game goes away, and I don't want that. And you're not at a handicap if you use the new stuff. How is that hard to understand? You're only at a handicap if you use the old gear, and that'd be your own fault. And "patrols aren't endgame but old gear isn't viable for the new ones" does NOT equal "old gear is viable for endgame content". I said old gear was not viable for endgame content, you said that crap about patrols, then said you proved me wrong. The two don't relate at all lol And if the half that left was the half that outright refuses to change and refuses to just relax and enjoy the game however it turns out, then this game would recover VERY easily and start to thrive. At least until those jackasses came back, because no matter how much they whine, they always come back. Unfortunately.
-
Edited by TJ_Dot: 8/22/2020 9:14:09 PMThen go dilly dally in the Crucible.
old gear was not viable for endgame content,
And Patrol is not that, so either Patrol is endgame, or this statement is inaccurate. "Old stuff isn't viable in new stuff" would be more correct. Then the argument would string what the point of it even is, and then at someone, it would have to be realized how little benefit this has for anyone or anything.
And if the half that left was the half that outright refuses to change and refuses to just relax and enjoy the game however it turns out, then this game would recover VERY easily and start to thrive.
This is just absolutely stupid reasoning and is a one-way ticket towards killing the game when a massive amount of people quit.
-
Do you not realize "old gear isn't viable in endgame content" and "old gear isn't viable in new patrols" are NOT mutually exclusive? It can be both. While you're right that "old gear isn't viable in new stuff" is the most accurate, that doesn't make either of the previous statements wrong or inaccurate. They're both still 100% true. Christ, what goes on in your head? Dilly dallying in the crucible isn't possible anymore because of all the tryhards shotgun sliding, sniper camping, and spamming jotunn/mountaintop. That's my entire point. Sunsetting will at least change things up a little in pvp so it's not as hard to enjoy pvp on new or less skilled players and so it's not as boring for veteran players. And honestly, if the sweaty, toxic half of the community left, this playerbase would recover. When all that's left are the guys that actually let the game be fun, more people like them join in. Fun leads to more fun, and people notice that. But when pvp is a travesty of tired strategies and toxic players, people lose interest fast.
-
I said accurate, it isn't fully accurate if something else applies, suggesting only endgame isn't accurate, as new anything is the true location. Old raids are endgame, and old stuff is viable in that, there's also that. What goes on in my head is proper consideration in what I'm saying or implying, something you're not doing. Try hards are try hards no matter what they use, you can take out mountain top and nothing would change, there's always a shotgun or sniper available. So that shakeup will hardly be felt. The sandbox is what truly defines the meta.
This is still stupid reasoning. Letting the game become a boring hasmterwheel is the opposite of letting it be fun. That doesn't attract people too, when you have many that would discourage them from playing if they asked.

The game is ALREADY a hamster wheel. Nobody uses anything fun, they only ever use what's strong, and that's tedious go play with or against. I'm done arguing this. I've made my points and you're too stubborn to listen.
-
The game is ALREADY a hamster wheel.
Why do you think people are complaining?
Nobody uses anything fun, they only ever use what's strong, and that's tedious go play with or against.
That's the only "fun" stuff Bungie makes. Welcome to Destiny's loot problem People have been saying that better stuff in general needs to be made because of things like this. Sunsetting cures none of it.
