Please cancel sun setting

I'm not interested in hearing all the excuses about why we "need" sun setting. The fact of the matter is that we've been in this for 3 years now building up our inventory and items just the way we want them. My Wife and I are not interested in loosing the ability to keep upgrading our favorite items. She has almost 90,000 kills with her No Turning Back. She took that name to heart and even changed her gamertag because or her love of that bow. We have 2300 hours in Destiny 2. Both of us as well as many others, are tired of the reskins, repackaging of the old, making it new again. We want you to create new weapons that make us want to change, not be forced to change. So, this is it. We started to check out Warframe. If Sunsetting occurs, you will lose us for at least the next year or two. We might come back to check out the new content if there is a $20 bargain deal, but otherwise, we will no longer remain loyal. And it's hard, because we don't want to do it, but we also don't want to to be forced into a cycle of constantly redoing gear. Possible exception, might be if you drastically reduce the cost to masterwork, or remove the Ascendant Shards and Prisms entirely, or make them drop much more frequently in lower level content and not just the ridiculous Grandmaster.

But you can use your old gear in old content... That is being vaulted because nobody plays it. Yes this is logic.

      • Y'know... the only reason I'm debating looking into Warframe is because I now have money to spend to make the game less grindy. And if that's not a reason to avoid a game I dunno what is lol

      • Everyone complaining should stop wasting their breathe and play something else. Too many people here treat this game like a high school relationship. It’s not that hard to put down a game jimbo. It’s just a game! 😂 they made their choice, and before you say I’m a sheep. Nah, I play very occasionally with friends who still play, otherwise I’ve moved on.

Got it. Continue to play your casual content while thinking Grandmasters are ridiculous.

          • While I think sunsetting and removing content is stupid and lazy, unfortunately it is going ahead. This is the direction that Bungo is taking the game - essentially minimal new content, recycling weapons and activities as new content, bleed the remaining player base dry with small expansions and overpriced season passes plus Eververse. I dont believe in Bungo at all, so im voting with my cash just like everyone who is unhappy should - i mean its the only way they may change their shitty attitude towards players. With Cyberpunk I wont even think about Destiny, then they have expansions over the following year then multiplayer so Bungo will have to do something amazing to get my attention (thus money) again.

Enjoy getting all the weapons you've already got that have literally no difference from there original.....except we've replaced some of your favorite perks with garbage perks that do nothing! You I would be ok with sunsetting if it didn’t effect masterworked gear pieces. That way you can keep your show boat weapons or your favorite armor and it would make masterworks more relevant

            • Out of sheer curiosity, what activities does she use the No Turning Back in? Because apart from raids and top end PvP and maybe one other thing, it's all still viable.

            • 1. You can still use your favorite weapons and armor in all quickplay crucible, and if you're playing trials or banner then let's face it, you'll use whatever is most broken at the time so that's not an issue anyways. 2. You can still use your favorite gear in all pve that is equal to, slightly greater than, or lesser than the light level they grant you, so it's not like they're 100% useless. They're just not viable for endgame anymore. 3. If for whatever reason you still want to use them in trials/banner and endgame content, you can if you want because they're still going to be in the game. Stop whining. Adapting and evolving is part of playing any rpg, mmo, or mmorpg. They're going to sunset. You and the other *children* whining about it aren't going to change that, because it's not a BAD change. They're encouraging versatility and adaptation. If you don't want to do it then just quietly log off the game and never log on again. Otherwise, suck it up, accept it, and shut your cakehole. I know I'm being rude and I sound like an asshole but I'm so sick and tired of seeing people cry about this again and again despite the fact it's NOT A PROBLEM. It's only a problem to boring sticks in the mud that refuse to do anything except their one and only strategy. It's only a problem to one-trick-ponies. Frankly I'll be glad when they implement it. Because in a few seasons, BS like Mountaintop, Gnawing Hunger, Jotunn, and other extremely frustrating-to-fight weapons are obsolete. And before you say it: no. It's not that these weapons are hard to fight. Mountaintop is easy to run from, and gnawing can be traded with or avoided. Jotunn is no harder to run from than Mountaintop. It's the sheer frustration of how often they're used, and the WAY they're used. I can't count the number of times I've rounded a corner into a camper with Jotunn firing at me from just outside my radar range, only to crouch down and keep waiting right there for the next guy. I can't begin to tell you the amount of Mountaintops I've seen used by people who couldn't hit the broad side of the Traveler with a sniper rifle, only to die to their team while avoiding the Mountaintop. And the Gnawing Hungers? I'm not alone when I say a Stability or Accuracy masterworked Hunger with stability or accuracy mods is, as far as guns go, the freaking DEVIL. So... yeah. Sunsetting is good cause all the one trick shitters out there will finally be forced to use something new and fun to fight against or they'll just have to leave. Either way, those of us that actually enjoy using the insane variety the weapons offer will only enjoy the game more in the absence of those that only want to run the same 3 weapons every single time no matter what.

              • sunsetting comes into play next time the power level cap raises sunsetting comes into play, blue armour and weapons swiftly become new meta because they are entirely immune to sunsetting you wake up, its 2040, you go on and play destiny 2 with your 2010 power capped ros lysis II which you havent switched out for a new weapon ever. sure, you had to grind for a new ros lysis II, but it means you get to keep the same weapon. at least your favourite destiny 2 streamer knows you arent afraid of commitment hunters with their 50+ recovery war mantis drops are especially excited for this meta none of the information on forums actually relates to what is happening in the game, because nobody wants to tell bungie how they're bypassing sunsetting, and since bungie doesn't actually have any of their employees play the game, they don't know about it that way either. surprise, surprise, people are still abusing mountaintop, revoker, and every other pinnacle/ritual weapon in quickplay, bungie has never balanced any of these things due to the fact that they feel like sunsetting is an replacement for balance changes, the cries of the hopeless fall on deaf ears. bungie also never released more newcapped snipers that aren't 140rpm, which means that borealis is a pvp meta now and so is bodyshotting master, izanagis there are also no cheaters in trials and IB because bungie decided to just light level cap them. again, they probably think that this actually fixed the issue but theres still cheaters in every other gamemode fenchurch has apparently brought new word today "there's a new raid, try playing i-" the message is immediately turned off because the forums decided long ago that they shouldn't be forced to play or grind for anything in the game, therefore you can find raid weapons and exotics in public event chests with a 100% drop rate

Okay. Treat the situation as though Beyond Light was Destiny 3. When Destiny 2 came out, we lost all of our guns, Venus, Moon, Mars, and Dreadnought. 4 locations and all of our guns. Destiny 3 would not have even been on a new engine and the same thing would've happened. I think Beyond Light is justified being looked as a Destiny 3 because it is introducing a new era where the Vanguard aren't even the focus anymore and a new trio will be instead, and an entirely new damage type and subclasses supporting it. This is about as close to a Destiny 3 we're gonna get but the difference is, our emblems, exotics, shaders, currency, subclasses, and our more recent stuff will be usable. Destiny 3 as a separate client would've taken all of this. Bungie wants Destiny to drastically change and...I support it. Any other MMO would sunset your gear alot more aggressively and it's not even a new concept in this genre. I know you said you don't wanna hear this but I just had to atleast had to give the 5% chance you'll read this and use your brain, a chance. No offense.

                      • I am sure most people are not thrilled about having to leave there favorite weapons in the vault ,but they are adapting. Just have to find replacements , like how reissued Gnawing Hunger has already replaced recluse has the go to primary ,and you can grind god rolls in the recaster of a lot of weapons, like the Whispering Slab bow it’s similar to No Turning Back But if you don’t want to adapt to how the game is changing, then you have every right to find a new game and leave Destiny behind, Warframe is good, but it’s better known has Warfarm because the grind for crafting mats is very tedious and can take a while, but they don’t sunset and they have hundreds of weapons that you can mod to your liking , and they make a new warframe every couple of months to go after. I just got burned out with it.

                        • It's not like the weapons are getting deleted, you can still use them in normal activities, just not light-based ones. It's YOUR WEAPON, nobody is telling you not to delete it, nobody is telling you it's going to be blacked out and unusable in all activities, it just won't be able to increase in power. It's not going away, you are just under the delusion that sunsetting = deletion. That is up to the individual whether or not that weapon stays around or not. the only things affected by this are Nightfalls, Raids, Iron banner, and Trails, and somewhat the dungeon but once you get your other equipment high enough you can still use them anyway. You will still be able to use it in the strike playlist, quick play, comp, as well as patrols and gambit. Side note, Masterwork cost I agree are way too steep, especially for the casual audience who rarely has time to play, no is the payout of these materials even remotely worth when actually earned. You would have to do pit runs 3 times a week to even get a good enough stack going.
