Ohhhh yeah Captain America takes it back derp da derp I believe in Ragnarok Odin tells Thor the hammer was just a tool to help him focus his powers but was never the source of them. And since he is the son of Odin I supposed that's where his power came from? I looked it up, this is very long but down where it talks about his powers and abilities it says https://comicvine.gamespot.com/thor/4005-2268/ Weather Control Thor as the god of thunder and son of Gaea was born with the natural ability to control weather since birth. Thor normally relies on Mjölnir to control the weather with devastating degree and release blasts of lightning. Mjolnir allows him better more precise control over his powers and allows him to better regulate his power output, and can act as a shortcut to access his natural powers. This is compared to using his powers without Mjolnir which seemingly require more effort to summon and are more raw and unregulated in their nature. So no clue how others get that power, ult loot crate might be the one to ask.

 • That's kind of what they said in Ragnarok (that Mjölnir wasn't the source of his power but rather helped him focus them). Still, when Jane becomes Thor in the comics, it's because of Mjölnir. The inscription on the side even changes to "Whosoever hold this hammer, if she be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor."

 • It may have to do with the new Dr Strange movie being about the multiverse, maybe it's from a different t universe? 🤷‍♂️

 • Ah, that could make sense. I was reading somewhere that Mjölnir has been shattered in the comics before but that the shards still held power (and then it was reforged). I guess they have a few options.

 • I was actually aware of that. I'm just wondering how they're gonna get the hammer back (if at all, they may go a completely new route).
