This is the same issue with auto rifles, smgs and some side arms. Time to kill, and or damage per second don't equal up to other options not even to a degree that is "worth while" Damage drop off isnt the issue when damage all together isn't there. The closer you are to a auto rifle, smg and or side arm user should increase its threat value to your foes. When a basic full auto weapon in its ideal range with fill crits still cannot out kill a hand cannon user, nor out flinch it almost every time is a serious issue. I am not saying to buff it to full on win each time, but bring it closer to the Dps and ttk values that when rolled with decent perks make it a worth while option to begin with. In its current state all three of these weapons require more luck then skill and even with skill many players realize quickly they are simply at a disadvantage and will have to either accept they cannot play the way they want without having to accept the burden of having inferior weapon preferences because the current meta(an excuse for shallow weapon diversity and balance) does not include an entire set of apparently neglected weapons that form your basic FPS bread and butter weapons I.e. Full autos and close quarters semi autos (staples since halo was created)

  • In PvP, I’m not too cautious of SMGs(if any, lol) and ARs because I know they have to get in close enough for my shotgun range to do any real damage to me. Which is kinda sad in it’s own way that they don’t do enough damage to PvE enemies because they are fun weapons to use in some cases..they can be fun weapons when crowd-controlling minors but once you get into endgame content, you’re just putting you and the team at a disadvantage when it comes to DPS. The damage drop just makes thing so much worse. It’s maybe one or two guns that feel alright but not close enough to be on par with most meta guns. We’re getting a Super buff soon. Hopefully a weapon buff will follow.
