I really don't want to politicize such a terrible issue, but why aren't any news stories talking about the color of his skin or his religion?
It just seems kind of odd to me. It's really not like them. It seems like they always try bringing that stuff up when something bad happens. I always think it's terrible that they distract the issue with the rhetoric, but it's just uncharacteristic of them.
Wheres the inquiry about him being a Syrian refugee?
Where's all the rhetoric concerning religion? All the questions about religion?
Why does this all disappear?

Oh...that's why.
But many of you folks still don't see the effect that white-washed media has on your perception, and that while you may believe you aren't being prejudiced, it's because you've been trained to think of your prejudice as normal.

Lol ITT: a lot of triggered people 👍
I really don't want to politicize such a terrible issue
Then I don't know, maybe... don't. It's not that hard.

He had many guns He killed people You turned this into a political talk over a tragedy. You wanna talk about the effect media has on people? How about those that wanna have a racism talk instead of standing in line, like us who are completely sunburnt and exhausted, to give blood or help out. Seems to me like the only people who wanna play the race card are those that care too much about what the media has to say. How about doing something instead of complaining on the internet.
-
Laugh out loud funny how your morally superior position is contingent on your complete lack of self-awareness. If I may remind you of the context, you're on an Internet forum, a medium of discussion, for people to talk freely, telling somebody they shouldn't discuss a topic. I could make the same criticism towards you. If you're so dedicated to helping, why are you here? Shouldn't you be out, forgetting sunscreen, and donating blood? How did you ever have the time to rifle through this thread, find my comment, and reply to it if you're so admirable? I'm making a comment about the manipulation of perspective that mass-media causes. This is something we should always be aware of, even in times of tragedy. This manipulation is a worst offense to the tragedy than me talking about it on a forum is, as it has a considerably larger influence. Also, congratulations on helping humanity on the most marginal level you can. Really proud of you. You deserve a medal.
-
Let's see ad hominem ad hominem, that's all you can come up with? I did my part. Can I donate more than 2 liters of blood within the week? No. Can I prosecute anyone or act in anyone's aid? Not until I pass the bar or a medical board? Do I volunteer? Yes, yes I do. Do I want anything back? No, do I care I'm not acknowledged no. Do I want a medal no. I realize that there are actual people outside who need help. What I don't do is come on a forum, then post a topic blaming the media for what happened and playing the race card. The fact is no one who is in my position even cares about the race of the victim. In fact the lines of people for more than two blocks outside blood banks and volunteer hubs all saw this event for what it was: the massacre of 59 people. Motive, race, media attention, none of it mattered because we want to help. You on the other hand are on an open forum, doing nothing else with their time but bitching about something that has zero impact on the real world. So you can stop being a keyboard warrior and actually help, or respond like the dog I know you are. So be a good boy and respond before your fragile ego shatters. Muted for being a moron.
-
You've totally failed to understand the most basic aspects of his post.
-
There was hardly any ad hominem in his post at all and if there was anything in it that could be considered that -- it was very well justified given the way you came at him... Don't even get me started on you muting him and calling him a moron. GG, dude...
-
Still laughing at this.

> when you pull the racism card

maybe u need to stob being a racist n a bigot but this will fly past u

It's hard to determine a motive. They didn't find any connections to terrorism, he has little online activity so we probably won't know if it was motivated by politics until they dig deeper into his life. He didn't show signs of mental illness, was a normal guy at least according to his brother so I don't know. Bringing all those guns to the hotel tell me he was planning on using people as target practice but why he did it on that day is my question. Also his father was a bank robber who escaped from prison in 1969 and lived on the run until 1978 but that is probably not relevant in this situation.
-
They also refuse to call it a terrorist attack. Mention that he had a "lone wolf" approach
-
Of course not. This was a terrorist attack, through and through, but it wasn't committed by someone the media wants to call a terrorist.
-
You need a motive to call it a terrorist attack. So tell me, what was the motive?
-
Tell that to the families who lost victims on 9/11 They don't need a reason they're freaking insane
-
Except you can classify 9/11 as a terrorist attack. We know what the motive was and that it fits in the definition of terrorism.
-
You're gonna tell me Osama had a reason to get his men to take many lives from the US citizens You clearly must be dreaming men like that don't need reasons to kill they do it cause it puts fear in our minds
-
Osama was part of an Islamic terrorist group. Saying they did it for no reason is a lie.
-
Is there a situation where opening fire on a crowd and killing 50+ people is not terror?
-
Edited by CobraMate: 10/4/2017 7:30:57 AMLol youre not alone buddy. Im amazed at what/how people here think as well 😂 Its more terrifying for someone to kill for no reason than there be a reason at all. Idgaf if its political or not lol if its an attack that instills terror on the people its a terrorist attack. These ppl are like "he dropped a bomb on the usa, the people are terrified and cant believe this could happen!" "Why did he do such an awful thing?" "He just hates happy people" "Oh wow, well this isnt a terrorist attack then" Reports are in, he looks brown, hairy and wears lots of clothes unfashionable to the average american. "Hes a terrorist! I knew it was a terrorist attack 'he just hates happy people' my ass!" Reports say that he never liked anyone happy, hes not even religious he just likes the clothes he says, born in america. "Man fuq what he says, hes a terrorist! Only we can decide why he did it!"
"well thats just called a hate crime" well PEEK A BOO MF! Im sure EVERYONE who wants to bomb and kill us hates us very much too
-
Edited by CobraMate: 10/4/2017 8:00:48 AMReports are in! 300 killed today in what investigators are calling "A call for help" Victims say "He had a suicide bomb vest on" "Was yelling at the people 'god will save us all'" "There was a plane that crashed into a building, we couldnt believe it. Everyone was in pure terror and disbelief" "Do you believe this was a terrorist attack?" "He looked white so im not sure...actually there was debris everywhere so idk" (read in a female voice makes it sound so much more....satisfying for some reason) Reports are in! Man, Appears to be white but not definite yet, with blonde hair and blue eyes, kills 300 and many more injured. Interview with him "I did it to terrify people! Shake things up a bit. We live in a society that thinks theyre all superman! With a government that only cares for money and acts like its tryn to protect everyone from themselves. Well how about i protect the people from you! Look how fragile we all are har har har may god save us all! We are so far from god nowadays may god save us all!" "Hes just a crazy old man"
Apparently terrorism can only be classified as terrorism if its political. Well PEEK A BOO MF! So if its literally, 'ALL OF THE ABOVE', with the exception of targeting politics, its not terrorism? Lol
-
What was the motive? To be classified as a terror attack, the shooter would have had to do it for political aims.
-
Edited by CobraMate: 10/4/2017 8:24:58 AMMy motive is just to kill and kill everything in my path. I am The Modern Terrorist and I want to cause terror in every persons heart! I want to destroy this world just because it fuqn sucks to live. I just hate how u smile at me. You disgust me. I love to see people suffer especially when i cause it. I love to see blood! I just want to shit in your drank bruuuh I successfully do all of the above. I kill lets say 25,000 people at a football stadium idk and injure the whole state. The state is literally in a state of terror (pun intended).....which most likely will lead to a chain of states in terror/emergency as well So if its literally, ALL OF THE ABOVE+, with the exception of targeting politics, I AM NOT a terrorist? Lol Well PEEK A MFn BOO to me sir!
lol seriously tho if someone said this out loud that they wanted to cause terror - even them themselves calls himself a terrorist lol. Are they not a terrorist if its not a political aim? PEEK A BOO me if im crazy
-
I don't think I need to explain this anymore. Easiest thing to understand. Causing terror doesn't equal terrorism. It needa to be done for political aim. The goal of terrorism isn't to cause fear, it's for political aim.

Do you realize he was 60+ years old Do you realize he was probably a lunatic with a lot of weapons at hand no you don't so get lost
