70 RepliesIt sucks to think of what this will turn into, and even more to think of what it could have turned into. If the attacker had been a Hispanic person, we'd be hearing nonstop about the wall. If it had been a black person, it'd be fuel for stop and frisk/anti-BLM rhetoric. If it had been a Muslim, we'd be hearing nonstop about the need for a permanent travel ban. Since it's a white person, now we can't judge by race, it's mental health, and we need to look harder into taking care of people with problems. Regardless, this was a horrific attack, and one of the worst in this nation. Hundreds injured, scores dead, and an even deeper rift in our population as a result. I hope something sensible is done as a result of this, but I doubt it, especially given the fact our current party is against more accessible healthcare (and is actively starving out the ACA in an effort to destroy and subsequently repeal it) and in favor of more accessible guns. Hate me all you want for politicizing this, but with attacks like these happening so terrifyingly often in America, something needs to change and it doesn't look likely to given the mindset of the current ruling party.

4 RepliesSo I have a genuine question because I don't really understand one part of the issue. How the hell did he get so many guns and so much ammunition into the hotel room in the first place? I see this as a potential cause of the problem.
-
3 RepliesOy vey, take the guns away from the Goyim. And it's not the Muslims who are the problem it's the white men.
-
1 Replyif this happened anywhere else americans would be like "that wouldnt happen here cuz we have guns"
-
14 RepliesGreat. Now we're going to have the gun control nuts screaming again.

63 RepliesI really don't want to politicize such a terrible issue, but why aren't any news stories talking about the color of his skin or his religion? It just seems kind of odd to me. It's really not like them. It seems like they always try bringing that stuff up when something bad happens. I always think it's terrible that they distract the issue with the rhetoric, but it's just uncharacteristic of them. Wheres the inquiry about him being a Syrian refugee? Where's all the rhetoric concerning religion? All the questions about religion? Why does this all disappear? *Looks at picture of Stephen Haddock* Oh...that's why. But many of you folks still don't see the effect that white-washed media has on your perception, and that while you may believe you aren't being prejudiced, it's because you've been trained to think of your prejudice as normal.

3 RepliesA CBS executive might as well have said the victims had it coming because of their political views. She actually took to twitter and said word for word “I’m actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans often are Republican gun toters". Now maybe it's just me but that is without a doubt the most vile, ignorant, disgusting thing I have ever had the displeasure of reading. Lady go straight to hell. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. Go directly to hell.

19 RepliesThis video is similar to the video posted in a private FB group during the shooting. The official claim is that he shoot from the 32 floor but many of use see the muzzle flash at a much lower level.

Terrorist Attack
Unless there's something I don't know, it doesn't sound like it was a terrorist attack.
-
17 RepliesOk, for all those calling it a terrorist attack, let's make something clear. For this to be classified as a terrorist attack, it has to be politically motivated. Basically, the shooter would have done this for an ideology he supported. This isn't a racist thing to say, something that some of you love to make it about. The motive is still unknown. But you cannot classify this as terrorism just because it was terrifying and many people died.

*Hurricane* "Now is not the time to talk about Climate Change" *Mass Shooting* "Now is not the time to talk about Gun Control" *Terrorist Attack* "NOW IS THE TIME TO TALK ABOUT IMMIGRATION POLICY" *Disclaimer: I know this doesnt apply to all and sundry, but it absolutely applies to some and it makes me chuckle. For the record, I think all instances are fair game for debate.

8 RepliesIn Europe we laugh at you Americans. It's not the kind of funny joke laughing. It's more a kind of sad laughing while shaking our heads and facepalming. You just don't learn. Inb4 Euro bashing. Remember where your ancestors came from, white Muricans. We are brothers and sisters. Ew no I take that back.

3 RepliesI don't know what depresses me more. The loss of life or the realization that nothing will be done about this and another 50 person shooting will happen next year and we'll repeat this cycle again.
