Absolutely NO...the matchmaking needs to account for skills AND connection.
Just because I have a broadband connection it doesn't mean that my level is the same like yours. I could end up with people a lot better and a lot weaker than me in the same match. It's a lottery with cbmm.
Skill must be accounted in my opinion and yet at the moment it is totally broken cause I constantly get matched against scarabs and professionals and that is obviously not my level...it's just a funless massacre.
They need to fix sbmm to really work as it should AND they need to account for connection as well

I enjoy fighting against better people with a good connection. a) I learn something from them and can copy their tricks. b) I don't have to shot jumping teleporting ghosts that can't be killed, either because I or they have a bad connection.
-
Sbmm needs to be taken completely out of the game.
-
No sbmm with lobby balancing would be good i think.

I agree, the matchmaking is all over the place. I actually check the stats of the guys that I am competing against. One game I am playing against guys that can't aim for crap, the next I am getting slaughtered by pubstompers. Just no consistency at all. Not to mention the amount of quitting these days is higher than ever because of said constant beatdowns.
-
Alleluja!!...thank you! It looks like it's not just me after all... And guess what. You're totally right. People are rage quitting because of lag or ridiculous match making. This is the symptom of a problem that I've been harshly accused I'm the only one expressing.

You're stupid to think playing at one's own skill level is a hug zone. Just shows how ignorant you are and how your brain glitches out when it tries to think of a different person's perspective. A person playing at one's own level is just as competitive as a try hard competing against another try hard. Just because one person has more skill than the other doesn't mean they are better than said person. You are a *bleep* bag!

It is so ridiculous that you justify my opinion because of my kd...what if I had a 1.0 kd would my opinion count more? Does my opinion count more with a 2.0 kd? That's so childish
It is so ridiculous that you justify my opinion because of my kd...what if I had a 1.0 kd would my opinion count more? Does my opinion count more with a 2.0 kd? That's so childish
You are literally advocating for something that directly benefits YOU. Your opinion is BIAS. Not to mention you are BAD at the game. So please: Keep you bad opinions that would make the game worse to yourself.
and maybe practice more. k?
-
And I'm taking that what your advocating doesn't directly benefit you, so your not biased at all right?
-
And I'm taking that what your advocating doesn't directly benefit you, so your not biased at all right?
I'm advocating for the same match making for everyone. So there is no bias nor benefit to anyone. Hth

The same matchmaking for everyone = roulette. Pure chaos governed by luck. You will never be able to compete with stronger players
The same matchmaking for everyone = roulette. Pure chaos governed by luck. You will never be able to compete with stronger players
The same matchmaking for everyone = CONNECTION Aka: How every game ever does it. But we all know that bad players like to hide under bungies skirt :)

And what about you hiding behind connection-based ONLY matchmaking? Don't you enjoy competing with people with your skill? How about git gud? I thought you were the one who wanted the challenge!? Oh no wait a minute I understand now. You like connection-based only because in this way you have more chances of shredding noobs. Is that so? Let me quote you again: MEEE MEEE ... I DON'T LIKE PLAYING WITH PPL AT MY LEVEL! I WANT TO BE IN A GROUP WHERE I'M THE ONLY PRINCESS

You're an idiot. The reason sbmm sucks in destiny at a higher skill level is because of a few reasons; the player base is low - leading to lobbies with multinational players (I'm in Australia, I shouldn't be getting paired with Europeans in public lobbies), and because of this, the p2p servers simply can't handle it and make it chaotic. The matchmaking times are a joke, I don't even bother jumping on during the week because I know I'm gunna wait in orbit for 10 minutes just to be thrown into a red/yellow bar lobby (see summer's vid). This isn't 'not wanting to play equally skilled player and have a challenge', this is wanting to be able to at least semi-enjoy the game when we do play. Yeah you might get stomped every so often, but there'll be times you'll be doing the stomping, and you'll never get better by playing the same skilled people all the time anyway. This games dead and it'll only keep getting worse unless they do something about the matchmaking.
-
Not sure about the education in your country but in mine we don't call someone an idiot just because you have a different point of view. I am sorry for your experience but if you had read properly what I wrote I said that connection must be one of the top matchmaking factors yet not the only one. My matchmaking doesn't last more than 1 minute and yet I'm often matched with players much stronger than me. Some other times I am the strongest in the lobby, that's what I mean by sbmm is broken. There is no balance. We are all perfectly aware that there are less players. Not much we can do about that. Are you really sure that those 10mins waiting are because of your skill level? Have you tried with a new account? I have friends both in the US and the UK whose skill is quite high (3+ kd) and they don't wait 10mins for matchmaking.

Edited by RIPaXe_: 3/21/2017 11:31:21 PMI called you an idiot because of the way you came across in some of your posts (you sounded naive). I'm not in the UK or US where there's an abundance of players due to a higher population.. I'm by no means a great player, but the player pool I'm thrown in is quite small.. I know people are playing as I have friends who live close by and unless I severely tanked, could never pair with. Oh and it's not my internet either, I have 100mb down 40 up directly wired to my ps4. It might work fine in denser populations but that's just a part solution, and the way I see it is they might as well widen it up for the last 6 odd months left in this game..

I'm on xbox (if that could be a difference). I'm not sure why the geographic location would matter with such fast broadband. I play with people of so many different countries obviously the vast majority is from the US. Anyway I don't think your long waiting time is due to sbmm or cbmm. There must be some other problem causing that for you. About my "naive tone" I was trying to sound childish on purpose because apparently that's the only language someone understands in here. I tried to reason with evidence in numbers if you read above but he just likes to be rude and pretend that he's the strongest player and that all the others are pussies.

At least I accept to compete with people at my level and stronger...how about you? You prefer to be with anybody with the same connection even if their level is 5 times weaker... Pathetic

Maybe he doesn't care to practice more and plays this for what it is...a GAME. Just because somebody's life doesn't revolve around a kill death ratio doesn't mean he doesn't have the right to enjoy the game. And calling somebody out for their stats is pretty easy when you hide your own stats.
