Matchmaking Experience #2
This is a follow up post to one I made a while back. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/220201261?page=0&sort=0&showBanned=0&path=1
Without dragging this out and going into all the problems related to sbmm I'll make this short.
Bungie can you please just go back to solely cbmm or at the very least rbmm. This needs to be done for countries outside of the US as they are suffering the worst and while Destiny 1 only has a short time left let us enjoy it.

129 RepliesAbsolutely NO...the matchmaking needs to account for skills AND connection. Just because I have a broadband connection it doesn't mean that my level is the same like yours. I could end up with people a lot better and a lot weaker than me in the same match. It's a lottery with cbmm. Skill must be accounted in my opinion and yet at the moment it is totally broken cause I constantly get matched against scarabs and professionals and that is obviously not my level...it's just a funless massacre. They need to fix sbmm to really work as it should AND they need to account for connection as well

That about sums up my experience in the Crucible. But hey, somehow the guy who is red-barring always end up at the top of the leaderboard. WTF Bungie? Dedicated servers for D2, or you can kiss this Consumer Equity's ass goodbye.

1 ReplyI especially love the solid green bars killing you through walls. It's not our connections it Bungie's coding. I always take video of questionable fights and there is so much bullshit going on in the crucible right now you wouldn't believe it. Or it has been and I haven't played crucible till year 3 so I'm just now noticing what's really going on. Most people don't even notice what's really happening but I have a quick eye and every time I play my video back in slow motion my suspicions are correct. Bungie manipulates our gameplay through hit detections and damage referee type coding. No wonder people cry for nerfs. I don't believe in nerfs but those people that can't figure out what's really going on blame the tools/guns and abilities instead of the gameplay/coding. All this thanks to Bungie. They need to get their grimy hands out of our gameplay. We better hope they don't do it in D2 or else you will be fighting the game more than other guardians. And people still believe k/d and elo matter in this game why? Lol!

8 RepliesVideo games are supposed to be fun. An enjoyable break and escape from real life responsibility. Looks like that's not the case anymore. Here's what I'm doing, you may want to do the same. 1. Quit Destiny 1 2. Play other games 3. Buy Destiny 2 used I quit playing 5 months ago (no regrets) and play other games that I enjoy. Hell I even played PlayStation 2 tonight and had a good time. I reached the point where the lag took away any amount of enjoyment I had. I stuck around longer than I should have hoping they were going to fix it. I've come to believe that SBMM was 100% a business decision to keep bad players around longer and buying more silver. Win some lose some keeps people around longer than lose some lose some. Bungie is making money at the expense of my personal match quality and enjoyment. Connection quality be damned, where's my money bitch? This is why I'm making the business decision to not support their business decisions. After the introduction of SBMM & Eververse I went from loving Destiny to slowly... I don't even know... it's not hate. It's being in a position where I'll buy a USED copy of Destiny 2 instead of new so they don't see a profit from me. Strange being here when I bought 3 consoles SPECIFICALLY FOR Bungie games. Original Xbox & Xbox 360 for Halo and PS4 for Destiny. I can't help feeling that Bungie is profit first player second. Where other games such as Witcher 3 for example were player first profit second. One company has earned nothing further than my salt and the other my money and appreciation. Speak with your wallet. It's the only voice they will actually listen to. /heartfelt old man rant

3 Replieswaiting in orbit for about five minutes to find a game; sbmm and cbmm (if it exists) are just broken...they wont change anything and i hope for all of us Bungie brings some change and dedicated servers, pvp-connection-requirements in D2

SBMM isn't the only problem and changing it to cbmm would do nothing. The netcode is terrible. P2p connections are trash and no optional regional blocking. I just want to know for D2? Dedicated servers? Optional regional blocking? Redone netcode? No damage ref type coding? I don't need Bungie manipulating players gameplay like they do in D1. If so then the pvp will be amaze balls and if they can fix all of the above. We need more than just a change from SBMM to cbmm. Wish it was that simple though.

SBMM is aids and with the player base fleeing the sinking ship like rats the last thing that is needed is splitting the player base into even smaller skill based chunks. Flush that SBMM turd down the toilet once and for all.

1 ReplyI cant believe bungie havent said anything about the lag recently. They always say they are "watching" and collecting data but they never seem to do anything about terrible connections. Today I matched a fireteam in Norway (16,000km away from me). How is that even possible? I frequently match Japan, China, USA, Germany and always have a terrible experience with connection and people red bar lagging everywhere. Completely ruined the game :(

1 ReplyIt still is connection based match making primarily I believe. Friday night I played some guardian named something "squash" and this player was kicking my tail. I reported him/her as highly skilled and looked up their stats. Top 5% in practically everything! I think the lowest stat was top 10% in assists lol. I somehow don't think that my middle of the road skill finds sbmm setting me up with players of that caliber. Totally cbmm there.

I left a clash match cuz I was red baring. Went back in hoping that I could have a different group to play against....i joined the same people I left. So I left and joined again...Same group of people I had left. I left again and I joined them again. Last memory of me on Destiny last night was me getting FoH.

I have to play pvp for the subclass quest It had me thinking back to year 1 when this wasn't a problem, and now it is.
