Honestly, the fact Bungie added the ability to even reroll weapons was nice, do you want everyone running around with "God" rolled Adept everything? I know you have to get the flawless once on the weekend of the weapon to unlock it but after that it's easy because you just get 7 wins and an engram.
It should cost what it costs, high risk/high reward if you're lucky.

If everyone had the same rolled weapon...wait that happened in D2 already lol. In general if you put the time into the game you'll eeeeeeeeventually get what your after.

You do know that "god" rolled doesn't mean equally rolled weapons, right? What is a God roll to me may not be for you. There are too many players and too many different playstyles for that to become an issue.

Invest if you choose, if you have the shards, if you are really wanting to gamble on the results.. If you are down to 350 shards.. maybe spending 250 on the possibility of the return being 3 shards.. i'd pass.
