Hey there. Necrochasm lets you work on the 'to equip' requirement (similar to how many require a certain number of kills after obtaining it but before you can use it) before you even earn the catalyst. When this requirement is met, the triumph will pop, making it look like you own the catalyst. But none of the above actually gives it to you. The catalyst is earned by doing two timed 'Crota's Minions' plate puzzles within the raid. If you have not done this, then you do not have the catalyst, regardless of what it looks like.
